    “Anna and Declan were perfect hosts and made us feel so welcome.”

    There was a log burner and open fire which we enjoyed using. The cottage is beautifully situated between Foxford and Swinford, with views of Croagh Patrick and Nephin on a clear day. There is a games room in one of the sheds with pool table, darts board and table tennis. The photos when looking at this Cottage on the website really doesn’t do it justice as the furnishings are practically brand new. Comfy beds. Clean shower which is accessible to those who find it hard to stand as there is a ...

Kitchen is perfectly decorated and equipped for cooking.The lounge is beautifully decorated with a really comfy settee. This is one of the most comfortable cottages we have stayed in for a while.

Holding a lovely position just southwards of the bustling town of Foxford is this delightful property Lime Tree Cottage, a well-presented ground-floor cottage in County Mayo.

Suitable for a family or group of four, it offers a charming and traditional home, perfect to return to after days of being outdoors in the Irish countryside whether you’re taking relaxing ambles or delighting in the excellent fishing in the area.

The first room to welcome you in on your left is the sitting room, head in here where an open fire within a beautiful fireplace sits amidst the soft chairs and sofa, you can put the TV and warm up with a hot drink in hand.

A traditional looking dining room rests next door, with chairs neatly positioned either side of the large woodburning stove, you can gather around the dining table to feast on hearty home-cooked meals, or together plan the coming days ahead and what they will entail.

A fitted kitchen holds a great range of appliances to use for whipping up tasty meals or packed picnics for later in the day when you’re out and about, with this room leading to the utility room that holds a washing machine and a tumble dryer for your added convenience, especially for longer stays.

Look forward to hot showers within the contemporary fully-tiled shower room to wake you up in the morning to prepare you for the day, with a cloakroom next door as well.

When you are looking for some well-earned sleep, rest in one of the three bedrooms, choosing from a double and two singles, each with feature fireplaces harking back to when an open fire was the only source of heating, they add to the character of this charming home.

On warm summer days spread out and enjoy the large front lawn, perfect for letting the children and the dog run around, then sit down at the outdoor seating with a spot of lunch in the fresh country air.

For keen anglers, you have come to the right place, with the nearby legendary Lough Conn enjoying a fabulous reputation as a fine brown trout and salmon fishery you can delight in hours of peace and quiet with this traditional past time, or choose the smaller Lough Cullin, holding a good stock of brown trout.

Take long walks along the River Moy offering a great way to discover the surrounding landscape, or for more strenuous climbs, explore Nephin Mountain with plenty of routes available to use to find your way up for stunning scenery and memories you won't forget.

Along with the bustling towns of Foxford, Castlebar and Ballina lying nearby within easy reach, your stay at Lime Tree Cottage will undoubtedly be a busy one.

Foxford is a delightful town situated on the River Moy in County Mayo. Foxford is well known as a tourist centre and has a variety of traditional pubs, restaurants and shops. Nestled between the Ox and Nephin Mountains, the town caters for a range of outdoor activities such as walking, mountain biking and fishing. The Foxford Way is a 53 mile long trail which takes in the Ox Mountains, archaeological sites, boglands and river banks. For fishing enthusiasts, the River Moy offers some of Ireland's best salmon fishing, whilst nearby Loughs Conn and Cullin provide opportunities for brown trout fishing. Foxford is ideally located for exploring the Wild Atlantic Way, either going west to Erris to explore it's beautiful rugged coastline, take in a visit to Ceide Fields Centre, Downpatrick Head or head east towards Enniscrone and other Sligo towns. Enniscrone has a beautiful beach and all the facilities of a resort town. Further afield are the towns of Ballina, Castlebar and Sligo, the Ballycroy National Park and Achill Island, all suitable for a day trip.
