“Robin's Nest is a great bungalow and is centrally placed for exploring the West of Ireland.”
there are 3 double good sized bedrooms, 1 single good sized bedroom, 1 family bathroom with toilet and 1shower room with toilet. in every bedroom there is a sink. A very large kitchen/Diner and large sitting room. whilst the property is old, it adds character and charm. this property can accommodate a wheelchair as it has standard doors. (I used mine) I would not recommend it for a large wheelchair though. The owner was fantastic and very helpful, we were supplied with all necessities, heating, hot water and peat logs. the pots and pans are a little scarce but we managed. All in all a fantastic property for couples, groups and families. We definitely would recommend it.- Mrs Metcalfe, October 2019
“Beautiful garden, very comfortable.”
Location is excellent, near the Knock main street and Shrine complex, even so it is lovely and quiet standing back from the road as it does. The owner was easy to contact and very friendly and helpful.- Mr Heppenstall, September 2019
“It proved so convenient for all the activities we wished to pursue.”
Very easily reached by public transport. Bus to Ballina one direction Athlone the opposite direction just yards from the house. Perfect for families with a large garden. Wide variety of reading material for children and adults- Mr Mcinerney, August 2018

“The Robins Nest Knock”
We enjoyed our stay. The property on the edge of Knock is well positioned for local amenities, local shop, supermarket, pub, local fishing lake and the Basilica Museum and Park at Knock shrine. There is plenty of car parking available at the front of the property, and a grassed area at the rear of the property has a picnic table and plenty of room to dry clothes on a line. (Good nwe washing machine) Knock is well connected with a great road net work. Our daughter visited from the UK and was easy to meet at the Ireland West Knock Airport twenty minutes away by road. The location enabled us to visit Westport (Greenway Cycle route), Achill Island, Cong, Lough Corrib, Conemarra National Park, Kylemore Abbey, Galway, National Museum of Ireland Country Life. We particularly enjoyed visiting the Island of Inishmore (Aran Islands) We visited our friends who reside in Belmullet, West Ireland and they made a return visit to Knock. They enjoyed their time with us and liked the traditional cottage environment and they too found the accommodation spacious, clean, with very comfortable bedrooms. The kitchen dining room was good for entertaining our guests and the spacious turf fired lounge made for a sociable evening. Our respective dogs could easily be accommodated exercised in the Knock shrine park (accessed opposite the Robins Nest via the convent side road). Good comfortable Irish cottage accommodation We would stay again David Mary and Katie Bland- David B, September 2017
“Great location, comfortable bungalow.”
The best location in Knock - near the only two pubs (one of which is a shop and pub and very friendly) which were open in Knock, and a short walk to Knock Shrine. A great basis for touring Co Mayo. The landlady was very accommodating and helpful to our request for an early check-in, since we had arrived on a very early flight, and had left tea, coffee milk, biscuits and lots of cleaning and washing materials which is not at all usual in rented properties. Great new washing machine and ample crockery/pans etc. Also a starter supply of turf and wood for the fire. Yes the decor is a little dated, but charming in its own way and so reminiscent of our parents'/uncles etc properties built around the 60s/70s, but clearly updated and refreshed without trying to win a design prize. Hopefully we will be back, and not leave it too long.- Caroline H, September 2017
