    “The location is great.”

A short walk to a lovely beach and a pleasant walk to the local town. The cottage is advertised as pet friendly but the garden is a not enclosed. Worth looking out for of you have a lively curious dog. We had a lovely two weeks a d found the cottage worked really well for the two of us.

The property

A comfortable, detached, modern bungalow just outside the popular County Mayo town of Louisburgh.

Set across the ground floor and sleeping seven in three bedrooms, this well-presented Louisburgh cottage is ideally located for a family holiday, with the nearest Blue Flag beach less than half a mile away and the amenities of the town itself only slightly further.

Relax or fire up the barbecue on the rear patio of your Louisburgh cottage where you can enjoy superb views of the impressive Croagh Patrick Mountain, while the kids or family pet play on the lawned front garden.

There is much to do in the area – the bustling town of Westport, famous for its traditional music, welcoming pubs and fine local cuisine, is just a half hour away.

If you prefer a more active holiday, there's plenty of climbing and hiking in the area, particularly Croagh Patrick, where the summit rewards you with fabulous views over the many islands that dot beautiful Clew Bay.

Two islands, Inisturk and Clare Island, are accessible from Roonagh Quay nearby and are well worth a visit, making an excellent daytrip.

Cyclists can follow the 42 kilometres of the Great Western Greenway from Westport to the stunningly rugged Achill Island, while golfers and fishing enthusiasts are also well catered for in the area.

However you spend your County Mayo getaway, you'll rest assured knowing a roaring open fire awaits you in the cosy sitting room of your Louisburgh cottage upon your return.
