    “Very disappointed on arrival.”

I couldn't believe Sykes rent out this property, I use Sykes all the time & have never had any trouble on holiday lets before. The cottage interior was very dated & not at all clean. I had to clean all kitchen appliances (kettle, toaster, hob, microwave, fridge), crockery & cutlery before using them; not what you want after travelling over 9hours! The kettle is dangerous as it drips boiling water when pouring. There was no information on what to do around the area, no emergency telephone numbers ...

There was no information on what to do around the area, no emergency telephone numbers and no internet connection which was really poor as I use my mobile for my medication. The TV remotes were difficult to use as they didn't press in properly you had to press the button several times! The shower Curtain doesn't fit its too short & doesn't go completely around the shower, so when taking a shower the bathroom got flooded. The shower seat was a disgrace. The front door lock is very Stiff making it difficult to turn the key, was afraid of snapping the key in the lock. On opening the windows there was a swarm of flies not with just one window but several of them. The only good thing about the property is that it's in a very rural & quiet location with views.

Hi There, We are very sorry for the issues you had on your booking. I am very close by and should you have contacted me i would have happily attended to get them rectified for you. We couldn't find a fault with the kettle following your departure. The TV has now been replaced along with the microwave, we are also currently re-vamping the kitchen all together and giving the property a complete repaint as well as some other maintenance. There is WI-FI at the property and emergency numbers are located on the wall, apologies you missed them. The bathroom is also having some works completed so all of the issues you have mentioned will be fixed, thank you for letting us know. We couldn't find a fault with the lock either but will keep an eye on it going forward. Kind regards Property Owner
