The property

This cosy, semi-detached cottage is set just one mile from the small town of Ballysadare in County Sligo.

This lovely cottage is attached to the owners’ home and small livestock farm, meaning that guests can experience the rural life.

Lovingly decorated and furnished, this home away from home is wonderful to return to after a day out exploring everything that County Sligo has to offer.

There are two comfy bedrooms as well as a fitted kitchen with dining area for enjoying meals together and a welcoming sitting room where you can relax after meals and plan what adventures are still to come.

Step outside and take in the stunning views of the two iconic mountains in Sligo, Knocknarea and Benbulben and why not feed the owners’ resident chickens and donkeys?

Ballysadare is a small but vibrant town with a few shops and pubs.

The town straddles the Owenmore River which provides outstanding opportunities for fishing, ideal for both amateur anglers and the more experienced.

For even more amenities, Sligo is just four miles away and offers traditional pubs, laid back coffee houses and gourmet eateries.

This bustling town lies on the popular and picturesque Wild Atlantic Way which is well known for its beautiful, sandy beaches against the backdrop of Knocknarea and Benbulben Mountains.

Sligo is ideal for a getaway in North West Ireland with its many attractions and activities on offer for all ages.

Guests can enjoy a walk along the Queen Maeve's Trail leading to the peak of Knocknarea where you’ll find incredible views and where the queen is buried.

After taking in these spectacular views, why not enjoy some well-earned lunch in Strandhill?

Amongst the many attractions that are on offer in the area are surfing, Carrowkeel Megalithic Tombs, seaweed baths, boat cruises on Lough Gill and the Model Arts Centre.

Sligo Town 5 miles.

The name Ballysadare means ‘The settlement of the oak by the waterfall’ and the impressive cascading falls are no doubt the main feature of this lively village. The small town is served by boutique shops and local pubs many of which showcase traditional music. Ballysadare lies on the rail link between Dublin and Sligo and it is just a few minutes’ drive into Sligo town itself. The coastline surrounding Ballysadare is beautiful with expansive beaches at Culleenamore and Strandhill with the latter being a top destination for watersports enthusiasts, and the rounded peak of Knocknarea, with Queen Maeve’s tomb atop, overlooks the village creating an impressive backdrop.
