The property

A fabulous, detached holiday home, with views towards the Comeragh Mountains, three miles from Touraneena in County Waterford’s small rural hamlet of Ballinamult. Set on the owner’s farm, this excellent stone-built cottage comprises thick walls and character features dating from its farmhouse origins, offering cosy and traditional accommodation for groups seeking a superb break in beautiful County Waterford. Enter via the airy south-facing sun room, which makes the most of those bright summer days; leading on is the first sitting room with its wooden floors, character beams, comfy corner sofa and cosy woodburner, a wonderful spot for a warm up after a busy day. The vibrant kitchen is set to the right, and to the left, the second sitting room with electric fire and luxury leather sofa is ideal for those seeking a separate quiet place to relax. For even more space, you’ll find the games room with a pool table, darts board and selection of books and board games. The three bedrooms upstairs are thoughtfully furnished and offer a range of sleeping accommodation to suit your needs, and a first floor family shower room and a ground floor cloakroom complete the accommodation. Outside is a rear lawned garden with patio area, and approximately 200 yards away is the River Finnisk, where guests are welcome to fish. Within a short drive is the quaint coastal town of Dungarvan set around its own bay, with lots of lovely little pubs hosting live music. Visit the weekly farmers market, which is held in the square each Thursday, whilst the annual West Waterford Festival of Food is not to be missed. The ancient town of Lismore is a little further, while further west still is Cork City, woven together by waterways and alive with culture, with plenty of contemporary buildings, bars and restaurants. Stay beside the sea and enjoy a scenic drive along The Vee, a wonderful looping route passing the Copper Coast, which eventually winds its way inland, through majestic mountain scenery with extensive valley views.
