“Lovely setting and quiet and peaceful and close to town for shops ect”
“The directions to the cottage were absolutely out of time.”
.... all info given were in miles instead of kilometer. we had problems to calculate distances and therefore could not find it without calling the landlord. The car gives distances in km and so does all the signs.....Do not understand why you give informations in miles.
“It was excellent , very quite .”
view was excellent . owner was very friendly and helpful . every thing was good . Defiantly recommend it .
“Fallowfield is a lovely cottage in a beautiful setting.”
If you have a car it's great, but you couldn't stay there without.
What a beautifully secluded cottage, and just what we were looking for! Stayed here for a week in November with the dog and had a fabulous time. Cottage is lovely and cosy with oil central heating and open fire (fuel supplied) and totally secluded - don't let the private level crossing or dirt track out you off.....it's more than worth it for location alone. Decor is a little tired but the cottage satisfied our needs perfectly and gave us peace and quiet, easy dog walks on the door step, friendly owner and easy access to the area. No wifi and limited mobile phone reception - but this adds to the charm and the escapism aspect which we loved! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend and will definitely be back.
We were greeted by the owner of the cottage who presented us with eggs laid by her chickens - and they were best chicken eggs we have ever had! The cottage itself is superb - located in splendid isolation along a track and we immediately felt at home. There was a quietness there with no traffic noise - a novel experience for us. Fallowfield is modern and extremely well equipped and kitted out. It has a good sized garden which was perfect for the dog we had accompanying us. There are good walks close by, as well as St. Peacaun's Church, his Well and his Cell (go and visit, you'll see what I mean!). The cottage is located in a good area to visit Waterford and the south coast of Ireland, as well as a few well preserved castles. If we ever return to this part of Ireland we would certainly go to Fallowfield again.
“A glimpse of Heaven in Tipperary”
I cannot rate this cottage too highly; it was in an idyllic setting approached from a lane running alongside a stream accompanied by a substantial sprinkling of ancient archaeological sites (St Pecaun's church, etc) along the way. The owners couldn't be more helpful, and friendly without being at all intrusive, with daily chats at the farmhouse a regular occurrence. Don't be put off by the fact the cottage is accessed via an unmanned railway level crossing. The opening and closing of the gates soon becomes a daily ritual and an effortless routine that often as not is opened and closed behind you by the cottage owners. This cottage is excellent value for money, ideal for singles or a couple, and I would have no hesitation in recommending it to my family, or indeed to anyone looking to self-cater in Tipperary.
I'am ready to go next tomorrow, and it's sure I'll go next.
