The property

This charming, detached cottage on the outskirts of Bansha, a village in the county of Tipperary, just five miles from the town of Tipperary itself is surrounded by beautiful countryside. Accommodation in the cottage is only found on the ground floor, with two double bedrooms, one single bedroom and a family bathroom making it a great Irish getaway for groups of friends, families and even couples. The area is wonderful for walking, and after a long day on your feet ambling through stunning scenery you can relax and unwind with your feet up in the sitting room or the snug, which both have open fires that can be lit to make the cottage nice and cosy in winter. The sun room at the back of the cottage looks out over the decking and the garden, with a glimpse of the towering Galtee Mountains in the distance. In the summer, open the bi-fold doors to let the sunshine inside, enjoy lunch out the decking, or let the kids play on the grass. The kitchen is well-equipped so if you’re venturing out for the whole day, you can prepare a picnic in the kitchen and rustle up something for dinner when you return. The nearest shop and pub are only a 10-minute walk away in the village of Bansha, where you can enjoy a drink in the pub or a bite to eat, and pick up the paper on a morning. There are lots of attractions nearby to keep you occupied during your stay, including exploring The Glen of Aherlow, Cahir Castle and the Rock of Cashel. There is a wonderful selection of shops, pubs and places to eat in the Cashel and Cahir, two towns close by, which have lots of fascinating history. The bustling, lively cities of Limerick and Cork can both be reached in around an hour’s drive, and make a fabulous destination for a day out for shopping, drinking and eating. This delightful little cottage is perfect for escaping the everyday and exploring the south of Ireland.
