“Modern enough inside and comfy, loungeroom lovely and warm”
My husband and I stayed here for a week March 2013 - I thought I'd reviewed the place but obviously didn't. The weather was terribly cold when we visited Ireland and we found the cottage great to come home to after a day out and about. We went out every day, all day. We left the heaters on but I can say the loungeroom holds heat very well and is nice to lounge around in at night with a drink after dinner. The kitchen had everything we needed and we often cooked meals at home. We went to the local pub but there was a wedding reception on so it was packed, we had 1 drink and left. Make sure you go out to Cahore Point, the pub has a great view and is very inviting. Booking was a breeze, no complaints there. The cottage was lovely and clean, I do remember the bed being a bit hard or short though ( I am 5 foot 10). The washing machine and dryer was most welcomed! We loved how the lounge area of the cottage in particular runs the same pitch and direction as the road, sideways downhill haha! It was no problem and just added to the charm of the place and it's only a slight thing but we could definitely feel it. Driving out onto the road was at times a bit hairy due to bushes and hedges, so take care with that. We would go back again and it is very good value for money. The front bedroom that has the 2 single beds was pretty small but you don't spend all your time sleeping anyway so get out amongst it all and enjoy. One last thing, we went to the wrong cottage as there is one just up the road with a red door hahaha, luckily they weren't home. Fiona
