“Lovely holiday nice and quiet great for those that want a nice relaxing holiday”
“What a gem.”
Brilliant location, excellent hosts and great base for exploring the countryside.
“Loved the area as it is so close to Arklow and Gorey for great shopping.”
Lovely and peaceful with lots of farm animals around that are friendly. The owners were fantastic and had a lovely fire lit when I arrived. Would highly recommended. Car is essential as its 4km off main motorway. The Peacocks are stunning!
very good equipped. Very good conditioned. Beautiful surroundings. also during winter times useable for short break or longer holidays.
“David and Liz were very friendly and helpful.”
Most definitely will return.
“We had to phone Sykes a couple of times regarding our return home ferry booking.”
On both occasions the staff I spoke to at Sykes were charming and helpful? They successfully resolved the problem much to our relief. Very reassuring to know that you have this kind of support while away from home on holiday. Thank you Sykes,we had a lovely holiday in a delightful cottage with our two labradors and we have already booked again for next spring.
“Liz and David are wonderful people that made us feel welcome like at home.”
The cottage is adorable and the environment super calm and relaxing. We absolutely loved it and highly recommend it.
“We enjoyed the cottage, it was as described scenery and landscape was unique and pleasant to view.”
Cottage itself was an 8/10 the peacocks and other animals made it a solid 10/10. The hosts Dave and Liz were absolutely lovely people and were very helpful. We would recommend a car since there is very little available local without it and you will have to walk along country roads due to no pathways.
“Very peaceful surrounding, hosts were very informative and helpful.”
Lovely place for our 25th wedding anniversary. Plenty to see and do in the area.
“It's a shame that you have to pay 30euros extra per week for heating when there is no need for it in hot weather, it's connected to the water heating, so you don't have the choice and end up opening the windows!”
Bit of a waste. Extra for the electricity meter too a bit archaic too although not excessive, but the host is very friendly. It would be more logical to have a closed area for your pets outside as they can't easily mingle with the farm animals which is understandable.
“Perfect New Year”
Spent the last few days of 2017 and first of 2018 at Rose Cottage. Perfect antidote to a busy year. Very relaxing break in peaceful surroundings. Close to beaches and great walks. Cottage well equipped and very cosy, log burner kept us toasty through Storms Dylan and Eleanor! Lovely hosts who made us very welcome, highly recommend.
Well outlay cottage with modern facility. Exceilent host's stunning country side peaceful & tranquil. Looking forward to returning. Very friendly peacocks who like crisps & toast.
“Beautiful cottage with lovely scenery”
We stayed for a long weekend in Feb 2014, we're a couple. The cottage is beautiful and well presented. My only complaint is how close it is to the main house. We wouldn't have chosen it if we'd realised how close it was to the main house and that it was adjoining another cottage for let. The space at the back is shared with the other cottage and the front leads straight onto the driveway of the main house. No-one bothered us but we were very conscious of our proximity to the owners. In saying that the farm was lovely and we woke up to peacocks on our windows which was a lovely novelty. I think it would suit a family with children who would be more interested in the farm
“reay great dream holiday”
Exceded our expectations. Located in fantastic countryside. Owners very friendly and helpfull. Complete freedom to explore everywhere on the farm. Very relaxing holiday. We and our dog loved it and we will all return again but for longer.
“Wonderful Cottage. Will def return.”
I had a Marlene Dietrich moment and wanted to “be on my own” for a few days. Stayed at Rose Cottage and found it excellent. The cottage is situated among very beautiful countryside. It was spotless clean and very modern. It had everything I needed for my stay. The owners were most welcoming and full of information on the area. I had my beloved dog with me and did some breath taking walks. There is a lake on the property which is just charming, takes about 20 minutes to walk around. I found is so peaceful and definitely recharged my batteries. I did not feel nervous being on my own as the cottage is situated up a long drive and also behind secured gates. If you are looking for some real peace, this is the place. Although great for families also as it’s a working farm with lots of animals and again secure. I will definitely be back.
Less than 3 hours south of Belfast set in stunning countryside close to both Gorey and Arklow. Cottage is beautifully finished and very comfortable. Hosts David and Liz are great very helpful but also give you privacy. Our 2 dogs were made very welcome too. The 2 bedroom cottage next door is also finished to an excellent standard. We were blessed with beautiful weather and relaxed in the loungers looking out over the forest. Already planning to go ack next year.
