    From start to finish the booking at Sykes was extremely helpful and accommodating The accommodation was a beautiful cottage with a beautiful fireplace that was extremely Christmassy and had modern up to date facilities It was very comfortable and had everything you would need and want The host was welcoming and accommodating She even provided Christmas decorations making it feel really homely I felt like I was in the Christmas movie The Holiday Both myself and my family have made some ...

This lovely, detached cottage occupies a charming countryside position, next to the owners working livestock and arable farm, less than less miles from the popular coastal resort of Duncannon in County Wexford.

Offering all ground floor accommodation, this charming Duncannon cottage provides friends and families with beautiful holiday accommodation whilst they discover the sunny South East of Ireland.

There are two comfortable bedrooms to choose from, one with an en-suite, a shower room and a cheerful open plan living area with a large kitchen, a sociable dining area, where guests can gather together over a hearty Irish dinner, and a cosy sitting area where you can put your feet up and toast your toes by the warmth of the open fire after a windswept day strolling beside the sea or hiking in the surrounding hills.

To the front of this cottage near Duncannon is a gravelled patio area, where you can enjoy a morning coffee as you discuss your holiday itinerary.

Duncannon, easily reached within a short drive of your Wexford cottage, is a picturesque fishing village that's home to a beautiful, long sandy beach where you can enjoy safe swimming and sunbathing or a warm day.

Known for its popular Sand Sculpting Festival, held once a year, Duncannon is a perfect base from which to enjoy a family-friendly seaside escape.

The Hook Peninsula is well worth a visit as here visitors can explore the beautiful Tintern Abbey and also join a tour of Loftus Hall which is reputed to be the most haunted house in Ireland.

Take a day trip to the vibrant town of New Ross, easily reached within a short drive of your Duncannon cottage, where you can visit the John F Kennedy Homestead and the Dunbrody Famine Ship and there is also a host of traditional bars and restaurants to chose from, teetering on the waters edge.

If you journey a little further to Waterford, Irelands oldest city, a guided tour around the crystal factory is sure to inspire.

Waterford 12 miles by ferry (30 miles by road).

The picturesque fishing village of Duncannon is situated in southwest County Wexford, and is dominated by Duncannon Fort, which sits on a rocky outcrop jutting into the channel. Waterford Harbour lies to the west and the golden sandy beach is popular for swimming and sunbathing. The International Sand Sculpting Festival is a village highlight each year. With a couple of pubs and restaurants and a children’s playground by the beach, Duncannon is a lovely place for a quiet seaside holiday. Catch a ferry to the beaches and watersports of Dunmore East, shop for traditional crystal in Waterford, enjoy the music of Wexford Festival Opera each October or explore some of the historic houses, beautiful gardens and lovely walks in this wonderful part of Ireland.
