“We had the most fantastic week in this beautiful house!”

The space, all the rooms, the garden. Such a gorgeous setting. If you’re looking for a large house in a quiet setting this is the place to go. Only a short drive from main towns/villages etc. the heating system heated up really quickly too which was good. Thank you for the homemade cupcakes, they were delicious. There was tea, coffee. Sugar and milk on arrival too which was a nice touch. The beds were really comfortable and soft, we haven’t slept that well in a long time. This house was just ...

About the location

AUGHRIM, COUNTY WICKLOW

Avoca 14 miles; Glendalough 16.4 miles; Dublin 44.5 miles.

Located roughly an hour’s drive south of Dublin city, Aughrim is a beautiful village, recently an all-Ireland tidy towns winner, set where several mountain valleys meet. The valley of the River Ow has fantastic scenery, and spreads north-west of Aughrim for about 10 miles to the base of Lugnaquilla Mountain. It is definitely worth a visit, with a selection of local pubs and restaurants, and landmarks such as the Old Mill and the local Catholic and Church of Ireland churches. As many buildings were constructed from locally-quarried Wicklow granite, Aughrim is locally known as "The Granite City".
