The property

One of three wonderfully renovated properties on a country estate, Barrington is a beautiful mid-terrace cottage near Newtownmountkennedy in Co Wicklow. With flexible sleeping arrangements and enclosed pet-friendly spaces, Barrington is a wonderful retreat for a group of six and off-road parking close to the cottage will ease your arrival.

The entrance lobby leads into a smart and stylish kitchen/diner with a comfortable table and chairs seating up to six guests.

The kitchen is well equipped for self catering and includes a hob, oven and dishwasher. A couple of steps take you down into a beautifully finished sitting room with a cosy wood burning stove, soft cushioned sofas and a 50" Smart TV.

Well behaved pets are very welcome in the spacious downstairs living areas. Completing the ground floor is a handy WC located just off the entrance lobby.

Upstairs, opening off an elegant landing, are three bedrooms which offer flexible sleeping arrangements to suit families and groups of friends.

The main bedroom can be superking or twin - the second single, twin or superking - and the third single or twin.

Each bedroom is cosy and peaceful and all three offer their own relaxing views of the countryside. The spacious bathroom offers a choice between a rainfall shower or a soak in the tub with a heated towel rail adding to the sense of luxury. The property benefits from access to a shared enclosed garden area with outdoor furniture and a barbeque for al fresco dining and a hot tub is available on request. Explore the local area with a visit to Newtownmountkennedy - an amazing little town where you will find pubs, cafes and restaurants along with a post office, a pharmacy and a wide array of convenience stores.

Enjoy a woodland walk by the Altidore river, browse round the famous Fishers of Newtown or pay a visit to the Tap Room at Wicklow Wolf brewery.

Slightly further afield you will find wonderful walks at Glen of the Downs Nature Trail, the Vartry Reservoir in Roundwood and The Devil's Glen near Ashford.

Newcastle offers birdwatching at the beautiful East Coast Nature Reserve, restorative walks along its peaceful shingle beach and a welcoming pub in the village. The coastal resort of Greystones is within easy reach of Barrington.

The main street of this lovely town is home to the original Happy Pear as well as many other excellent restaurants and cafes.

Stroll along the seafront and explore the harbour area where you will find the start of the famous Cliff Walk which takes you through stunning coastal scenery to the seaside town of Bray. Wicklow is well known as a golfers paradise with local clubs Roundwood and Glen Mill closest to Barrington and Delgany, Greystones and Druids Glen nearby.

Drive a little further and you will find Powerscourt, The European and Woodenbridge - just a few of the many quality courses Wicklow has to offer. Barrington sits about 20 miles south of Dublin City, in the foothills of the magnificent Wicklow Mountains National Park with its plethora of peaks, lakes and splendid scenery.

Newtown Mount Kennedy is a small town in County Wicklow, Ireland, 5 miles from the seaside town of Greystones. It is a picturesque village set in woodlands and glens including Glen O’Downs, Altidore, Callowhill and Kilmurry. It is home to a number of local shops and public houses to enjoy. Explore the adjoining villages of Kilpedder and Kilquade whilst sampling a pint of Guinness in the local pubs in the surrounding countryside.
