The property

A delightful, detached bungalow resting amidst a mountainous region close to Moneymore village, Slieve Gallion Cottage provides a wonderful base for families eager to escape normal life.

Awarded four stars by the Northern Ireland Tourist Board this homely abode provides two bedrooms and great transport links, as well as boasting a tranquil position, making it a lovely, award-winning choice for an escape to County Londonderry.

Step into an attractive entrance hall before finding the sitting room on your right, offering a traditional décor with a gas fire for those chilly winter months, plus ample seating where you can put your feet up after a long day.

Carry the conversation into the kitchen/diner, offering dining seating for six where family meals can be enjoyed, prepared using the electric oven and hob, microwave, and fridge/freezer, while the washer/dryer is also a welcome addition.

Take the evening outside and relish in the tranquil surrounding from the patio furniture or get the barbecue sizzling as the little ones play on the lawned area.

This is also a lovely space to sit back with a favourite drink and ponder on the holiday so far.

As you tire, head to the bedrooms, offering a family room with a double and a single, along with another double room, complete with plush duvets and plenty of storage for your personal belongings.

Get to know your surroundings better by exploring the local area on foot, with so much wonder on your doorstep, you’re sure to find a fun-filled adventure every day.

The house is situated in perfect spot for Hill walking and cycling with ample cycling and hill walking routes as well as the local forest area, good for walking and views and seeing local wildlife.

The nearby village of Moneymore offering the National Trust delight of Springhill House, a 17th century ‘Plantation’ home with walled gardens and parkland, it makes a lovely day trip for all, not forgetting the choice of restaurants, bars and pubs to try as well.

For even more amenities, head over to the small but lively town of Magherafelt where you can get your fix of retail therapy, while watersport enthusiasts must visit the Ballyronan's award-winning marina amongst the Lough Neagh, home to outdoor games and beach areas, playpark and nature trail to take advantage of.

Take a trip to the Jungle NI which is Northern Ireland’s leading outdoor adventure activity centre and offers an exciting choice of adrenaline-packed activities and exhilarating events.
