Beautifully presented spacious house, well equipped, in a god forsaken location and we had a very wet and windy week.

The host,Thomas,made us extremely welcome and showed us everything we needed to know for using the property.

Booked more than a year out, we felt this cottage would be perfect for us, three adults (in our 60's) family members.

It was an exceptional choice! Each of the three bedrooms had plenty of space and were thoughtfully furnished. While not needed for our family, we were very impressed by how well prepared the cottage was for families with children, even an infant. A crib, high chair and child-proof gates at either end of the open stairs are provided. The well stocked children's playroom was a really nice touch. Our host Thomas met us the first afternoon, to help orient us to his property and the surrounding area. He was quite gracious in answering all of our questions. The local treats he provided were especially appreciated after a long travel day from the USA. This was our second vacation to Ireland, so we knew a little of what there was to see and experience. County Clare was a nice home base for the first of our two weeks on this Irish holiday. We enjoyed visiting Ennis and the 13th century Ennis Friary (about an hour away) as well as the lovely drives we took along the Wild Atlantic Way (both north and sound on separate days). The Loop Peninsula and lighthouse are not to be missed! We prepared most of our meals in the well appointed cottage kitchen, but also enjoyed some local dining in Kilrush (which is only 15 minutes from Silver Birch). We highly recommend The Haven Arms for supper and Bowman's Lane for breakfast. For local bakery treats, don't miss Considine's, also in Kilrush. Thank you Thomas for a relaxing and perfect stay!

We recently stayed at silver birch cottage on the edge of cooraclare a part of county Clare we are not that farmilar with .

We met Thomas few a few chat the evening we landed a very down to earth host . We were very impressed with the cottage as we have been renting each year since 2018 so we would have a fair idea of a good one and silver birch is a good one . The location in that part of the county is brilliant 20 minutes in any direction and you’re touching some of the main tourist hot spots . A fantastic cottage for families as well as just a couple to stay couldn’t recommend highly enough… thanks Thomas

It was equipped with everything that was needed! The owner is so helpful and gave suggestions on what to do in the area! Will be back again for sure!

We enjoyed a fantastic time at this charming holiday home!

From the moment we arrived, we felt so welcomed – the owner was incredibly friendly and helpful, and greeted us with delicious biscuits and apple pie. The house is beautifully decorated, with super comfy beds and a fully equipped kitchen stocked with tea, coffee, sugar, spices. We loved the great collection of books, including some really interesting cookbooks. The kids had a fantastic time in the playroom, which had plenty of toys and DVDs to keep them entertained. The location was peaceful and convenient, just about 10 km from Kilrush. Highly recommend this charming place!

Having spent a glorious week at Silver Birch the weather and facilities are excellent.

It is a well presented property with good quality bedding and towels lovely comfortable houses and Thomas was extremely helpful when we arrived a lovely apple pie and cream, and biscuits waited for us which was much appreciated. Would love a return visit to the area. Anne, Bob and Christine

It's so good to have all the things you need in a holiday cottage without having to run out to the shop; not to mention the treats Thomas was kind enough to leave.

We also appreciated his suggestions about places to visit. He also left lots of good dvds. Thank you. We had a very happy time.

Birch Silver was a lovely house which we enjoyed immensely.

The house is very clean and comfortable. It has great space and every modern convenience. There is a spacious deck at the back of the house with great views of the lush green countryside. The owner of the house is extremely pleasant and kindly left us milk plus a few other goodies. Very welcome after a long drive. Thanks Thomas.

The property exceeded our expectations and was extremely well equipped - probably the best I've ever stayed in. It was also spotlessly clean and we were left a nice treat when we arrived. There's so much to do nearby I wish we could have stayed more than a week. We had a great holiday.

Our stay at Silver Birch was very comfortable.

We have rented other properties over the last 3 years and we were very concern as to what we would get when we arrived as previous properties (cleaning materials at hand0 they have been awful, but this was a great surprise on our arrival. To find a clean, tidy and the same as on the web site. We would highly recommend this to our family and friends.

The house was excellent, there was everything we could need.

It was very clean and the owner was very helpful re restaurants etc. He had left us a tart, fresh cream, biscuits and milk for when we arrived after a long journey which was very welcome. Would definitely recommend

This is a lovely place to stay and Thomas couldn't have made us more welcome.

If you appreciate quiet and wildlife it's for you. But it has easy access to the Wild Atlantic coast and everything it has to offer. Would definitely recommend it.

There were four of us staying at the cottage, and we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay.

Everything we needed was there and we were warmly welcomed by Thomas. A very peaceful location with beautiful views, and within easy driving distance of various towns, beaches and other attractions. We'll certainly be back.

Nothing makes you feel at ease like a cup of tea and on arrival Thomas had provided apple tart milk tea etc for us so we were able to have a much need cuppa .

Silver Birches was amazing and inviting ,spotless comfortable spacious and so very well equipped,and absolutely nothing missing . Thomas was very helpful and informative. We were 4 adults but for families with small children it would be perfect .well equipped play room and very safe garden Peace and quiet lent itself to us having a very restful time each evening on return from our travels.Definitely a wonderful holiday home and perfect base for touring and enjoying Clare. We had a fantastic week staying at Silver Birch.

The house was spotless on arrival and Thomas the owner extremely helpful and accommodating. We arrived earlier than the stated check-in time and the house was ready for us and Thomas had provided milk and apple tart so we could have a much needed cup of tea! The house itself was perfect for us; it has everything you need with plenty of space for a family. We particularly liked the safe, large and clean garden for our young children and the icing on the cake was the brilliant playroom stocked with toys to keep them entertained! The washing machine was also a major bonus for us. Locally there is a fabulous beach about 5ish mins drive away plus Kilrush is not far if you need to go to the shops. This was a fantastic place to stay for an amazing family week in Co Clare - many thanks!

The house was in an ideal location and good base for travelling around as it was close to a lot of places.

Good beaches a few minutes away, close enough to local shops and nearby Kilrush has everything you need. The house itself was deceptively bigger than it looked in the pictures, and the playroom was a godsend! The private garden and decking area provided a few great evenings! Thomas was lovely, and very helpful and the little extra's on arrival were unexpected and very appreciated. Definitely a house we would come back to!

Lovely property, clean and well looked after.

Very friendly and helpful host. Cows passing by in road between 8 and 9 and around 17:00 so be prepared to wait at those times of day. Approx 1 mile to main road and fairly bumpy tarmac single lane. Very quiet.

House spotless and as described, Thomas supplied a multitude of items which we weren't expecting, everything all worked great and a nice and quiet spot for a weeks holiday.

Silver Birch was, without doubt, The best cottage we have stayed in in Ireland.

Silver Birch house is a really comfortable house with everything you will need for a stay in Clare.

You are within driving distance of anywhere you want to go. Thomas was there to greet us the day we arrived with all the right essentials for a well needed cuppa; and he came again to see us off. A nice quiet area with safe areas back roads to walk.

What a wonderful place to stay the comfort, the peace,a beautiful place. Thomas the owner is exceptional in his care and thoughtfulness, all the extra touches in the house made staying there a pleasure. We will definitely be back.

What a beautiful holiday home!

It is fully equipped and so comfortable. Although rural, it was a perfect base to discover all of Co Clare. If I were visiting Co Clare again, this is the home that I would return to. A home from home and the owner was very helpful. A lovely touch of having milk & some treats on arrival.

Great house.

Wonderful reception by the owner with tea, coffee, milk, cookies, applepie! Very well equipped house. Lovely garden and views. Good beds. Very quiet and dark at night: we slept very well here. Excellent wifi. Nice veranda to sit at warm days and nights; plenty of turf and wood provided for cold evenings. Thanks for a great week.

Thomas met us on the day as arranged, with inviting cakes and biscuits.

Lovely person to deal with. The house is extremely clean and very comfortable. You will find everything you need, from washing up liquids to toys for the kids. Location is perfect for relaxing holidays with the beach nearby and the village with all the shops and restaurants just about 6 miles away. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back.

What an amazing house !

Spotlessly clean with everything you could need. Very comfortable and tastefully decorated. Lovely secure garden for children to play. The house is within 30/40 minutes of the major tourist attractions in Clare so convenient. Lovely coffee shop called The Potters Hand in Kilrush! Highly recommend this house.
