What guests are saying
Shanti Ghar was perfect for our group to stay.
The property is very spacious and the outside covered seating area is great. The only small issue we had was that there was only one shower working in the house. It was a bit of an inconvenience as there were 10 of us staying, but we made do. It wouldn’t put us off staying there again.
On arriving at Shanti Gher we where a little surprised at the external exterior as it needs a lot of tlc,but once inside it is spacious and very homely, with 5 large bedrooms, with very comfortable beds and everything you need,if you are looking to escape the busy city life, then this is perfect for you,10mins drive from Bantry.
West Cork is so beautiful with lots to see,it was definitely our favourite staycation
Property not properly maintained and needs TLC Needing attention as follows; Upstairs baths plugs missing or do not fit.
Same for downstairs bathroom sink. Only one shower in house with low water pressure and intermittent flow. No locks on bathroom doors and 2 handles detached. Fish tank an annoyance because of loud water filter and expectation to feed fish daily is unreasonable. Problems encountered whilst there; Kitchen waste pipes from sinks leaking and water pouring out on to floor and dripping on to power plugs under sink. This caused the power to trip out twice. Fortunately we were able to tighten up the loose fittings and keep the power on. Clearly, there has been some poor maintenance of the plumbing in this area. Additionally, the kitchen fridge stopped working probably fused due to water dripping on plug. We did message the owners requesting urgent help and received a response next day and a maintenance person arrived that morning. There were no leaving instructions regarding the rubbish and recycling or bedding/linen. Could be a lovely holiday house without these issues and great location. Thank you in advance for your attention to the above. Regards. Geoff Nash
