Description

Set in a prominent position in the bustling town of Rosscarbery, 1 Closheen Lane is a fabulous holiday home, perfectly suited to family of five travelling with their beloved canine companions. Surrounded by the luscious open fields of the County Cork Countryside whilst resting just a pleasant drive away from the the coast, this wonderful retreat offers the very best of Ireland. As you step inside this attractive dwelling, be welcomed into a pretty country-style kitchen complete with all the necessary appliances for a self-catering stay. Joining this space is a wonderful dining area with a stylish glass table and chic cream seats, where you can delight in many of your meals whilst indulging in a bottle of bubbly. Spend your evenings cosied up in the light and contemporary sitting room, keeping yourself warm from the heat of the electric fire as you catch up on all your favourite shows on the Smart TV. Take the staircase up to the first floor and discover a spacious bedroom with lovely furnishings and an en-suite shower room, as well as a homely twin and a quaint single, together providing room for up to five guests. Finishing off the interior of the property, you will find a tranquil family bathroom with a large tub where you can soak in the water as you unwind from a fun-filled day exploring the area. Head out to the well-manicured lawns of the garden and watch as the dogs play freely whilst enjoying a refreshing drink at the patio, basking in the last of the days sun. Take a walk to the heart of Rosscarbery and enjoy a night on the town with dinner and drinks in some of the finest local restaurants, or grab a takeaway and return to the restful ambiance of your home-away-from-home. The town has a choice of three high quality restaurants, takeaways and three good pubs, one of which also serves food. The house is also close to the Celtic Ross hotel which offers a further dining venue. Venture out onto the waters with an adventurous afternoon at The Lagoon Activity Centre, as you partake in new and exciting watersports such as paddleboarding and Kayaking, or challenge yourself to a go on the inflatable assault course. You can walk to Warren beach from the house though it's probably a mile. Warren beach is one of the best beaches in West Cork and is blue flag as well as having lifeguards also. The pier is used quite a lot for swimming and occasionally fishing. A walk to the pier in the evening is very pleasant. There is a coastal path walk between Warren strand and Owenahincha beach which has fantastic views and is very well maintained.

See the Burgatia Standing Stone as you make your way down to the sandy shores of Warren Beach and watch as boats bob happily in Rosscarbery Pier. Visit Drombeg Stone Circle and Salem Castle, or spend the afternoon at Coppingers Court and Glandore Gardens. Hop in the car and embark on a scenic journey to the town of Kinsale, home to the 15th-century fortress of Desmond Castle and the 16th-century ruins of James Fort, along with many quirky stores and incredible walking tours for all to enjoy. Visit Cork, the second largest City in Ireland, and see Cork City Gaol, Red Abbey Tower, Elizabeth Fort and Saint Fin Barre's Cathedral, or set about on an eerie ghost tour at some of the cities most haunted locations. Enjoy an animal encounter like never before at Fota Wildlife Park, or fly through the skies at Zipit Forest Adventures. Uncover the hidden gems of this magnificent country on a holiday at 1 Closheen Lane.

This is a great house, especially if you have a dog.

The garden is very secure and private. Accomodation was very clean on arrival. Beds were super comfortable. Local amenities only a short walk, or drive away. Fabulous beaches very close by too. Lots to do and see in the local area and very friendly locals. PERFECT :-)

Very clean and well presented.

Excellent location with very good access to village centre. Lovely gardent and well equipped. Only drawback was traffic noise due to proximity to main road. Difficult to find even with post code. Signage would be useful. Very enjoyable stay would definitely recommend.

The property is a stylish cottage with all the necessary facilities.

The decor is attractive. It has a pretty enclosed garden and ample private parking a very short distance away. We arrived to find a very clean and tidy cottage ideal for our holiday with our two dogs. It is located within walking distance, albeit up a steep hill, to the town centre where there are several pubs, cafés, an excellent seafood restaurant, which was unfortunately closed whilst we were there, a supermarket, pharmacy and gift shop. We received a warm welcome wherever we went. It is within easy walking distance of the estuary, a pier, a four star hotel with an excellent restaurant and leisure/sport centre and a little further away a beautiful beach. The town and region have a rich history with lots of historical sites to visit within a short car journey. Glandore, a short car journey away is well worth a visit for the restaurant there, Hayes Bar, and the spectacular views across the bay. Kinsale, a tourist attraction and foodies' delight is an hour away. We will definitely consider booking the cottage again.
