The Beachhouse

What a beautiful house in an absolutely stunning setting.

The house was so warm and comfortable, spotlessly clean, decor calming and a reflection of the outdoor scenery colours. Even with some bad weather it was a pure pleasure to sit in the open plan upstairs kitchen / dining / living room and watch the scenery changing constantly. A house designed to embrace the outside. Great long garden for the dog with sitting area and beach at the end. Check in and check out details communicated efficiently by Sinead. Even a brief essential maintenance check in the outdoor area was informed to us by the owner to make sure we didn’t mind. A little slice of heaven in Donegal .. hope to be back again soon.

Overall definitely the best house we have stayed in with beautiful views, very clean also.

The only thing we were a bit disappointed with was we thought it was an actual beach at the bottom of the garden not what we expected you would need wellies, and it was muddy no nice dry sand. Beds were quite hard, the humming noise all night wasn’t great either but probably can’t be helped and if it had been 4 bedroom it would have been better but we did enjoy our holiday all the same.

The BeachHouse is an excellent holiday home in an absolutely stunning location in North West Donegal.

It was so safe and peaceful for our Cocker Spaniel.

We had a brilliant stay at The Beach House!

It's in a wonderful location, with stunning views and the garden is brilliant for dogs. The house itself is beautiful, making the most of the stunning views and is generally very well equipped. Sinead, who was out contact, was lovely and really helpful with speedy replies. We would definitely stay again!! I would suggest some oven/casserole dishes would be helpful as there weren't any and a hairdryer would be a good addition too, but they don't alter my opinion of this amazing house, just helpful suggestions

Perfect Beachhouse getaway.

This is our 3rd time staying at The Beachhouse, we absolutely love it. The house is spotlessly clean, modern and beautifully spacious, making it a comfortable and relaxing place to unwind. The location is fantastic- right beside the beach, with stunning coastal scenery all around. It’s the perfect base for exploring. As dog owners we especially appreciate how dog friendly the house and area is. Our dog ‘Bear’ just loves it. We can’t recommend this place highly enough and have already booked our next visit. A true gem.

Great walks and beach from the doorstep.

This BeachHouse is in a great location, gorgeous views and to a high standard The only things I’d say could be improved is there should be a welcome pack with information on the running of the house, walks and day trips in the area,food shops ect In the house the utensils/cookware definitely needs updating and more of it we did have to buy a few bits to cook with We didn’t actually meet the owner as we arrived late and checked out earlier on the departure date that suited us though and Sinead did call before we arrived and during to let us know the electric would be off for a few hrs one day which was good to be informed and know she was always a phone call away if we needed anything Would highly recommend this property to stay at in Donegal

A beautiful stay in this gorgeous house.

Perfect for 6 people so comfortable with lovely seating area for outdoor dining//viewing great kitchen bedrooms and bathrooms . Very modern and stylishly decorated. The views are breathtaking and can be seen out all angles from the property! A lovely base from which to explore the area. We even got our groceries delivered from local Eurospar so handy! Wish were there for longer we will be back!!!

What an amazing house in an amazing area.

The house was really clean and everything we needed was provided. The sea in your back garden was amazing and the beaches were so clean and wonderful. We had an amazing time. Loved it.

The property is beautiful and the location perfect.

We felt that there could have been a bit more crockery and cutlery ie pasta bowls, knives and forks etc. Also a visitors guide regarding local area and information on glass recycling etc. However these are just suggestions. Would definitely go back

Absolutely stunning property in a great location, beautiful views, very well kept.

The only thing I would have liked would have been to be able to secure access to the back of the property via a gate on either side.

This would make it much more reassuring to open bedroom windows/ patio doors at night with all the bedrooms being on the ground floor. A functional bbq would have also been nice. Other than that the house is superb and has been very tastefully decorated to a high standard and was spotless. We had such a relaxing stay with amazing weather. Wow, what a place!

The pictures really don't do the house, and location, justice. The cleanliness, and maintenance, of the property was outstanding. Loved it so much that, on my second day there, I booked another week later in the year.

AMAZING PROPERTY We travel 4 times a year to stay in the south of Ireland and this is by far the best house we have ever stayed in.

Sinead,who keeps things ticking over, is just an amazing cleaner...as well as excellent at helping out when needed The house is spotless!!! There is everything you could need from hand soap to washing capsules!!! . Just wouldn't recommend grilling sausages or bacon or your will spend your time silencing the smoke alarm lol. Hoping to book again in the near future as was just an amazing house in a beautiful location. Thanks to Linda for her understanding when we had a decapitation of one of the ornaments

Stunning from start to finish!

If I'm being really fussy the house needs a hairdryer and I left a corkscrew as there wasn't one there, but other than that my stay was perfect. My dog Daisy loved having her own private walk down to the shore. 13/10 from us!

Fabulous property, especially if you are looking for a quiet & peaceful vacation. Easy access to the beach and a great location for visiting other local parks & beaches.

This was our second stay and it was just as good as our first.

The house is gorgeous and so comfortable. Storm Bert showed up and the house was the perfect cosy retreat from the coastal boxing going on outside. The owners were extremely helpful when the power went down across the county after the storm and could not have done any more to make our stay perfect in every way. We returned to the beach house for a reason and we wish to visit again in the future. The beach and dunes are all the exercise and relaxation you will ever need.

Very comfortable and very modern. Amazing bathroom. Great garden going down to the sea, even in bad weather ! The dogs loved it !

Absolutely beautiful property.

Clean, tidy and had everything you could need. Upstairs living area perfectly situated for wonderful views overlooking the sea. Perfect location for peaceful getaway yet 5 mins drive from shop and pub. Linda and Sinead excellent hosts, have previously stayed at their Upper Killult property and always available should you require anything. Will definitely be looking forward to returning to the Beachouse.

The Beachhouse is peaceful and idyllic.

We unexpectedly experienced warm summer weather for most of our fortnight in September with only a few days that were a wash out. Regardless, you can enjoy the property in any weather as when we were not out in and around Donegal, there was plenty of space for our daughter to play in the rooms and we could relax with a book too. It's also no issue to communicate with the property owner should it be required. Would highly recommend staying here.

The house is everything as described and more.

We loved it so much we booked for 2 weeks next year. If you have dogs and are looking for luxury you won't be disappointed. A home from home. The views, the peaceful surroundings, the beach on your doorstep to name a few. Thanks to syke cottages and the beach house for a stress free stay.

Part of our honeymoon was spent in this fabulous property; the peaceful location, the stunning views, the luxury furnishings, the friendly welcome, and being able to bring our beloved pup with us all helped to make very special memories.

Wonderful holiday had by all & we didn’t want to leave.

Luxurious Beachouse & yet so homely with everything & more you could ever want or need. House perfectly tidy. Free standing bath gave us a little home Spa experience. Great thought & love went into every detail of this house. Surrounded by such natural beauty, the views were stunning & relaxing. Beach nearby for walking, swimming or R&R with nature. Good size Supermarket nearby. Visited Glenveagh National Park twice & brought our bikes & so worth a visit. Definitely going to return next year. Finally thanks to the Sykes Team for all they did to ensure our holiday plans went so smoothly.

+ House was fantastic.

Very clean and spacious. It had amazing views and it was great being able to walk across the dunes over to the beach at low tide. Very luxurious, and would 100% visit again. Underfloor heating made it very cosy and warm. Owner very helpful when we had power cuts during storm Isha and Jocelyn! - If bringing a dog, the garden is not secure especially when you bring a pup with zero recall! Also there was no baking equipment or casserole/presentation dishes for food. Or hairdryer.

Thee best rental we have ever had the pleasure of staying in. To echo almost every other review, pictures do not do this gem justice. It’s like an interior designer planned every aspect of this home. The design, the quality and the sheer luxury is second to none. Views out of this world. It was a storm almost every day of our visit and we loved watching it from the inside through many of the picture windows. We 10000% will be booking again. Actually don’t want to share it with anyone else. Top tip: don’t feel the need to pre buy and pack food and drink. The local spar has absolutely everything you may need. Thanks for sharing your home with us. Look for are to staying again.

We had a wonderful stay.

The views are tremendous no matter the weather. Well equipped, cosy and spotless. Sinead easily reachable to answer any queries. The beach is a short drive and was great for our dog. We really enjoyed our stay, the proximity of the sea has a real healing property for my wife, much needed after some recent losses. In the kitchen a sieve would be handy and a cafetiere (we brought one!). Thank you.

..despite the mixed weather...on dry days was lovely to sit out on the balcony and take in the views and on wet windy weather you could appreciate your cosy and comfortable surroundings watching the wild weather outside in this exceptional property. As other reviewers have said, the pictures do not do it justice. Well decorated in tones drawn from surrounding landscape. Sinead helpful in providing us with instructions as to how to access local irish tv channels. Beds are very comfortable, quality linens etc, fabulous ensuite bathrooms, particularly master bedroom suite...Great facilities eg utility room, dishwasher tumble drier etc ...just bring a hairdryer...access road a bit 'rural' but driveway round property excellent. We had a fabulous week in the Beach House.

We were met by Sinead who was so helpful and gave us very useful information about local events happening during our stay. Communication was great with her. As previous reviews have said, the house really is better than the pictures! It is thoughtfully and tastefully decorated with lovely art work throughout the house. The views are to die for from every window! It is so lovely to sit and watch the changing views with the tides. It was warm and cosy and perfect for relaxing in the evening after a day spent exploring the local area. Every possible thing you could need is provided, it was the best equipped house we have stayed in, and it was spotlessly clean! We have stayed in many holiday houses over the years and this was our favourite yet, will be hard to beat! We hope to return soon.

Fantastic property in a great location.

Photos don’t do the property justice. Thought some of the pictures made it feel a bit stark and bare, in fact the property felt luxurious throughout. Everything is of a very high quality with a huge secure garden area leading down to the sea shore

Amazing views from the back and even seats overlooking the estuary (if you’re lucky enough and it’s not raining). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, was here for my 50th birthday, everything was provided and was lovely decor and comfort (quite unusual in some holiday let’s to have both). Would definitely book again if we ever come back this way!

The Beachhouse was even better in real life than the gorgeous photos on web site.

Everything has thoughtfully been designed for comfort with plenty of space and beautifully decorated. Having plenty space around house was fantastic too with two dogs and great access to beach walks to tire them out. Will be highly recommending this to family and friends.

Sinead the caretaker was very helpful from the start of our visit to the end.

The property was immaculate we just didn’t want to leave! We just couldn’t find a thing wrong, the location & views were outstanding.

This house was stunning with spectacular views of the sea and the mountains.

The whole house was beautifully furnished with lots of lovely features. I couldn’t fault it. It’s an excellent spot for touring Donegal with a range of fabulous beaches nearby along with Mount Errigal which is an enjoyable climb.

Everything in the house is so well thought out. So peaceful, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Although we had rain most of our stay it didn't stop us getting out and about. We had a really enjoyable week would highly recommend The Beachhouse. Pity there is only 5 stars to mark ...its a 10 from us.

Wonderful family week spent in this beautiful house.

The views were amazing even in the rain, the house has everything you need and as a family is the favourite holiday house we've ever stayed in. The owner was very friendly and helpful and there were plenty of beaches, walks and castles to keep us busy in the area. Would highly recommend the Beachhouse for a fabulous holiday.

My family and I had an amazing stay at the beach house, amazing views and so peaceful, for my dogs to be able to walk straight out the back door onto a private beach I don’t think they wanted to come back home.

A short 5 minute drive to another beautiful sandy beach, the holiday home is one of the best I’ve stayed in and we will definitely return. So relaxing and a very spacious modern home 10/10

The Beachhouse is a fabulous property, architecturally designed and coordinated.

Luxurious throughout, from the bedrooms, to the bathrooms, and not forgetting the upstairs kitchen/dining/living area. In a quiet location, but very close to Magheraroarty pier, and beach. We had a lovely time, and will be back.

I would highly recommend a visit to this beautiful location and property, we had a fabulous holiday and we’re lucky enough to witness some of the most spectacular sunsets during our stay.

I’ve stayed in AirBnBs in ten different countries but this is by some distance the best quality accommodation I’ve ever stayed in. I would be back tomorrow if I could.

Property/Location was so peaceful and relaxing.

Family and pets really enjoyed being so close to the beach and the ocean. Views from property were outstanding. Property has so much room inside that our group of 5 plus 2 pets were perfectly accommodated. Gas barbecue was easy to use, and cleanliness in and around property was to a very high standard. Very sad our holiday there is over!

Hi There, Our weeks stay was brilliant from start to finish.

The Beechouse was really clean and comfortable. Its location was really convenient for local pier, beach, etc. We would really be interested in booking another week in this house, if not this year, definitely next year. We used the wooden deck chairs at end of garden in evenings for a few drinks, such beauty all around!!! We had a minor problem with batteries for window blinds but managed to rectify this ourselves, by swapping around batteries. Also, maybe an idea going forward, would be to erect a glass shelter around garden deck chair area, It got quite cold there in late evenings. But, on the whole, a very enjoyable and comfortable week was had here by my wife and I, our daughter and her husband and also our son, plus our little 12 yr old terrier dog. Larry Mc Cole, Dublin.

Simply splendid.

Lovely house, tastefully decorated, fantastic setting. We really enjoyed our stay. The beach beside the harbour, where the Inishbofin ferry launches, is fantastic. We had a lot of rain during stay and the Beachhouse was the perfect spot for very comfortable relaxation with views to die for.

Yet again another fabulous holiday, we are back at Easter for a week and so excited to be going back to an amazing holiday home and location.

This property is more than we expected.

Our hostesses was very friendly and reachable. The house is very lovely and the view was more than ideal. Privet garden not over looked. It is walkable from the property to it’s own little paradise at the bay. Fun for family with kids who wanted to spend a day at the sandy beach or a nice walk with your pet. Very quiet location for anyone who wanted to be away from city and noises.

Attention to detail exceptional. Beautiful house in a most spectacular location. The views are incredible from the kitchen, master bedroom and outside spaces. Facilities were excellent and we have never been to a holiday home that was so well equipped with literally everything you could need. Fantastic property, very clean & well equipped. Sinead was indeed a five star host. She gave us very useful information before we checked in and maintained good communication with us. The instruction covers every single detail. The property has excellent amenities and we made a lot of use of the kitchen and common space with our group. Sinead also allowed our dogs to stay in the flat with us which was great. We had a great time. Thanks Sinead, we had a lovely Christmas during our stay.

We were blown away with the quality of the house it’s location and especially the quality of the interior and design.

Everything was pure luxury no expense spared . Sinead who meet us upon arrival with the key’s was very friendly and answered all our questions regarding places to eat and the surrounding area . A guest book would have been nice to write a thank you message to the owner and also give other visitors ideas of places to visit and good restaurants in the area . We had the most amazing holiday, we live in Ireland and we always holiday here with our two dogs this is our favourite holiday house and location to date . See you next year . excellent, first class accommodation set at a very high standard, every thing you could want is provided. beds were very comfortable and spotlessly clean. shower rooms were fantastic, first class. absolute stunning views from the house. only thing missing was a visitor review book, would have liked to give some positive feedback to future guests.

The property was more than we expected, the location was perfect situated right on the shoreline which was at the bottom of the garden.

There was a picnic table and chairs right there when the weather was good you didn't feel the need to move anywhere else as the views where stunning. The house itself has been designed to make the most of the views with the living accommodation being upstairs with the added benefit of an upstairs patio off the lounge complete with gas barbecue and patio furniture, another encouragement not to go far. Great detail has been put into the furnishings and I got the feeling that an interior designer had been employed to ensure that the full potential of the house was achieved. Everything about it has been designed to make your stay there enjoyable. As for the area it must rate as one of the most beautiful areas of the British Isles with stunning beaches of white sand more often with hardly a sole on them and coastal scenery with sea cliffs coupled with majestic mountains. When needing help in asking directions or finding places the local people where more than helpful and very welcoming and polite. I can also recommend the boat trip across to Tory Island for a day out, we will hopefully return in the future.

We love the peace and quiet ... Just enough places open to eat in June ... Great house for the two small dogs ...bit sad about no WiFi ...pretty standard these days ...other that that ..excellent house ..high standard Well worth the trip ... Good base to see much of Donegal... definitely going again ...
