The market town of Ballinrobe sits on the banks of the River Robe,
in the south of County Mayo. Ideally placed for visiting its
neighbours Galway and Castlebar, Ballinrobe is well served by a
selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. The town is popular with
sportsmen, with the only race course in Mayo, plus an 18-hole golf
course nearby at Cloonacastle House. Fishing is a popular pastime
here, as the Ballinrobe district has 60,000 acres of brown trout
fishing between Lough Corrib and Lough Mask, plus fishing on the
river Robe. Walks and cycle tours can be enjoyed in the surrounding
countryside. A few hours drive from here takes you to The Burren,
Connemara or Yeats country in Sligo, making Ballinrobe an ideal
base for those who wish to sample a bit of everything during their
Irish cottage holiday.

I found Hogans a first class company. From my first call the staff were very helpful & knowledgeable about the area we were going to. If the sales team were busy they always phoned back. Having a wide choice of cottages & ferry package made booking the holiday very easy. I will definitely use Hogans again
