Bluebell Cottage

Bluebell Cottage is clean, spacious, and came with everything necessary for a week's holiday.

The kitchen and dining room area is particularly warm and light, and is a great place for hanging out and chatting. And Finbarr was an incredibly welcoming host: he was on hand to let us in and show us around on the first day, and even called midway through the week to check that we had everything we needed.

Best cottage we have ever rented.

It was perfect. Host was very friendly and even came to say Hi.

What an amazing gem of a cottage.

Wonderfully appointed, warm, clean, and bursting with charm. My family and I enjoyed an amazing week here over Christmas and it was the perfect home base to enjoy the holiday and explore West Clare. Finbarr is a wonderful host and was happy to assist with any and all queries. I definitely recommend Bluebell Cottage for anyone looking for a wonderfully welcoming cottage and a delightful and tranquil escape with all the necessities to hand.

We had a wonderful 2 weeks at Bluebell cottage.

It is a beautiful space with everything you need there. Shops and restaurants are not too far away. We highly recommend Bluebell cottage for relaxation and exploring Co Clare, and we would definitely love to come back. Some lovely welcome touches which we really appreciated.

I enjoyed my stay at Bluebell Cottage very much.

It was much more then I expected and my host was most gracious and welcoming. If I ever had the opportunity to return to Ireland, I would most certainly revisit Spanish Point and stay at the Cottage. As a single, senior citizen traveler it is important to me to stay in accommodations where I feel comfortable and safe and my host and Bluebell Cottage provided both. Although I travel alone, I prefer self catering cottages and this is one of the best that I have stayed at. It would also suit families very comfortably.

My final two weeks in Blue Bell cottage were as brilliant as the previous booking.

The cottage is quite lovely, extremely clean, well laid out, and as cozy as you could ever want. It is also in a perfect location. Spanish Point Beach and a few lovely pubs and restaurants is about a mile away, and just up the road is Milltown Malbay offering grocery stores, a hardware and furniture store, and a number of great pubs and cafes. A short drive up the very scenic coast are Lahinch (my favorite go to for its bakery, woolens store, and a fabulous art gallery), Doolin (do not miss the seaweed barrels experience by the seaside), the Cliffs of Moher, and so much more. I could go on and on about this cottage and this part of the world, but will leave it here. Thank you Ireland, thank you Clare, and thank you so very much to Blue Bell Cottage.

Blue Bell Cottage and its owner are wonderful.

The place is immaculate and has everything one could possibly need in any home. I was greeted by the owner who gave me a complete tour with instructions as needed for anything that worked differently in Ireland from the US. The location is also perfect for access to all of County Clare and beyond. There are so many small coastal towns and villages to visit, and there are many you will want to return to for a wonderful meal, shopping, and other experiences. This place is on my "I will return" list for Ireland.

Absolutely beautiful cottage in a wonderful location.

We really enjoyed our stay here and Finbarr was so helpful and made us feel so welcome. Lots to do nearby and this cottage is such an amazing base to explore the beauty of County Clare. Would highly recommend visiting in November too, so quiet and peaceful! Would love to stay again in this beautiful cottage.

Finbar was very welcoming and the fresh scones hit the spot after a long drive down. The house is beautiful. We were very lucky with the weather and we spent most evenings on the beach watching the sunset with the dog. Would recommend Bluebell Cottage.

Just spent a week staying at Bluebell Cottage and have to say it's one of the most homely comfy places I've ever rented.

Everything about the place was absolutely perfect, the attention to detail in every room to make your stay comfortable was second to none. We arrived to meet Finbarr & Geraldine there with a blazing fire going for us and a plate of freshly home baked delicious scones. Fridge & cupboards had enough stock to get us settled in and the sitting room was stocked up with heaps of firewood & coal. Everything in the cottage was in perfect working order and the entire place was immaculate clean. Beautiful lay out of rooms , perfect place for families or couples with excellent space to accommodate. I would highly recommend this holiday home~away~from~home cottage, beautiful location only a few mins walk from Spanish Point beach and a short drive from Miltown Malbay, Quilty & Tue White Strand. We had a lovely relaxing week staying at Bluebell and I will definitely be booking in again . Mandy ✨

Great house to have Christmas thanks

Best cottage I have stayed in yet, a warm welcome from Finbarr and Geri who had left us delicious homemade scones.

The cottage was warm and cosy and its pics don’t do it justice at all. Lovely big garden and surrounds. Local supermarket and pub and great location for sightseeing. All in all great value for money. Great stay, thanks for the memories

Fantastic property, a real home from home.

All home comforts and a few more besides. Spotlessly clean and very well located, being close to Spanish Point beach (2 min drive). Finbar and Geraldine are the best hosts you could wish for and we hope to be back next year!

It is not practical to walk to the shop or beach because there is no pavement on the quite busy road.

We all had a fantastic time, the house very clean and the lounge room in the kitchen is amazing, location is also great, we went to Armada hotel for dinner and it was one of the best experience too.

I totally recommend this place.

Amazing place to stay .

The pictures don’t do it justice . The house is much bigger than it shows . Every thing you can think of is provided ( and more) we would have used the pretty garden more if the weather had been warmer , but that’s just a seasonal thing . Lots of room , very efficient house too . Very little energy needed to heat . Our dog loved the huge windows and doors to keep an eye on the birds . Close to amenities and Spanish Point beach .

Utterly delightful property.

We were blessed with fantastic weather, and able to follow the sun in the many seating areas in the garden. The cottage was well stocked with everything we needed. It was was a lovely treat to have fresh milk, butter and jam etc left as a welcome pack.

As other reviews pictures doesn't do the cottage justice, absolutely superb in all aspects, comfort, facilities and location.

Would happily stay again, and would highly recommend. Spanish Point is beautiful

A lovely cottage with everything you need, a great spot to explore the wild Atlantic way.

Had a great week stay at Bluebell cottage it had everything you could ask for and spotless clean, a nice big open kitchen area looking onto a lovely big enclosed garden where a small group of rabbits would come to graze in the evening.

It was a good base also for exploring south Clare as Kilkee was only 25 mins away (great beach and cliff walks)and then a further 15 would take you to killimer where we got the ferry across to Kerry and drove down to Dingle across the Connor Pass, and then there’s a scenic drive to loophead lighthouse where you can see nesting fulmers and guillemots on lovers leap. Travell just north from bluebell cottage will take you to Lahinch and then on to Doolin where we had a great 20 min trip to innis oirr and horse and cart ride around the isle (well worth it) A perfect week was had staying at the Lovely Bluebell cottage where hosts Ger and Finbar couldn’t have made you more welcome

We had a delightful stay at Bluebell Cottage.

The owners are great hosts. The cottage is near to amenities and ideal for the places in the area to visit. We know the area well and the cottage for us was perfect. Our grandson had plenty of space inside and outside to play too. Hope we’ll be back!!

An excellent place to stay in a superb holiday location.

The cliffs of Moher and the Burren are musts to see, as is the local expanse of beach at Spanish point. The town of Ballyvaughn overlooking south Galway Bay is also a must, and close to the coast road of the Burren. The cottage is well equipped and in a large garden. We enjoyed the delicious scones provided by Finbarr on day one. We can recommend this cottage wholeheartedly.

Finbarr and Ger made our stay brilliant.

The house has everything, so clean, warm cosy and spacious. All facilities are perfect and with dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, heating, freezer, big garden we had everything we needed. Excellent and highly recommended.

Bluebell cottage offers a delightful mix of old and new.

It is perfectly situated in close proximity to beaches, walks and the exquisite Burren. The garden and cottage are beautifully laid out and tended.It offers a constellation of cottage charm and character while equipped with all modern conveniences. The warm welcome from our hosts all added to a delightful and homely stay. The cottage and location are highly recommended.

It’s a brilliant location and had everything we needed. The garden is fabulous, our 3 year old had the best time running about and exploring! The owners are lovely, and the homemade scones they left for us were delicious. We’ve already booked our return trip. Would definitely recommend Bluebell Cottage.

We had a lovely relaxing time, garden is great for the dogs, very safe. The garden is well kept and was abundant with butterflies and bees which was great to see. Inside the facilities are good. Big open, airy space. Travelcot and highchair were good quality and the cooking facilities are excellent. One minor negative, some of the door handles need tightened up. Highly recommended

What a fabulous location!

5 minutes walk into Miltown Malbay, great tourist places to visit, and 2 minutes from the beach for fabulous refreshing walks - still missed. The facilities at Bluebell Cottage were just stunning and the cottage itself was so welcoming and warming. If you want peace and quiet - it's here, but if you wanted all your friends to visit - this is the place to invite them! The owners were so welcoming and no question or assistance was a bother. As said, we still miss it and have told lots of people about it. Would definitely stay again.

Bluebell Cottage was absolutely lovely and Finbar was a most delightful host!

We were greeted with a plate of homemade scones with jam, butter and milk in the fridge together with tea and coffee in the cupboard. The beds were comfortable and everywhere was spotlessly clean. Loved everything about this area from the eclectic collection of shops in the the town to the majestic Cliffs of Moher. I recommend 'The Old Bakehouse' for a good evening meal, 'Foodies' for a hearty breakfast and the menu of Irish music served up in the local pubs.

Everything about the Cottage was really great, very clean, spacious and comfortable.

Located in the heard of Co. Clare, it is easy to get to anywhere within 30/45 mins max. Finbarr the owner was extremely helpful and accommodating, providing very tasty scones, milk etc.. Overall a super place to stay.

The owners were friendly and welcoming and we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay in a beautiful part of Ireland.

The cottage was superb.

The heating system was incredible (we stayed in February), the house is extremely well appointed with extra towels, two tv's (we've small kids so this helped prevent rows on wet days), great kitchen and entertaining space. The location is excellent for a West Clare holiday, 10 mins to Lahinch and the Cliff's, 20 minutes to Kilkee and the Loop Head trail. We had a couple of minor issue's and Finbarr arrived and sorted them out within the hour! We will be back and we'd highly recommend this cottage - absolutely five star space and service. We rent in West Clare usually about three times a year and I think we've found our home from home...

This is a great holiday rental.

Very comfortable and good location. The owner met us and showed us everything we needed to know and also left some homemade scones which was lovely. We would highly recommend this cottage.

It is so well equipped. A perfect location for Spanish Point and Lahinch beaches and for touring around Clare. Such friendly owners. I would definitely recommend it.

Bluebell Cottage is amazing!

We had a pleasant surprise after a long drive from the ferry port across Ireland. The owners were there to greet us with freshly made scones and jam which were very much appreciated, what a welcoming touch! The picture on the website doesn't do it justice, as round the back there's a beautiful large extension finished to perfection, with tiled floor throughout. It is a light and airy space with a comfortable lounge area and a roomy kitchen / dining area tastefully done out. .....actually we wanted to live there!! Lots of interesting little decorations around and a lovely garden at the back. Bedrooms all good and spotlessly clean. We visited Ireland for a wedding and this was the icing on the wedding cake for us...Many thanks.

Fabulous cottage with all the amenities you could want.

Thoughtful owners. Larger than we'd expected with a big garden which our dog loved to play in.

Having had bad experiences with cottages booked in the past (not via Sykes) I was infact very dubious about booking another cottage.

However Bluebell Cottage was more than one could expect. The cottage was stocked and supplied to a very high standard, internal finishes and cleanliness were excellent. The owner provided a welcome pack on arrival and gave a thorough handover. I would definately book this cottage again.
