Clogher Cottage

We had a wonderful week at Clogher cottage.

The beach is a very short walk away and is glorious. The cottage has everything you could need. The rooms are comfortable and well maintained. We are a big group, 4 adults and 5 children under 6. Plenty of room for us all. Sea views to wake up to and a real fire if it's cold. Mary was very helpful and accommodating. I can't praise her and her lovely cottage enough! I had never visited Ireland before but will definitely return.

We loved our stay at Clogher Cottage.

It was quiet, spacious, clean and well cared for, the beds were comfortable, and the surrounding countryside was beautiful. The owner's instructions on how to find the property were excellent. Though seemingly off the beaten track, it was perfectly positioned between Kilkee for a safe sandy beach, good shops and Waterworld for our one rainy day, and Lahinch with its beautiful wide beach great for bodyboarding. We also managed to fit in visits to the Cliffs of Moher, Craggaunowen and the Leap Head Lighthouse, and can recommend the dolphin watching trips from Kilrush, with all these places within easy reach of the cottage. We were sad to leave.

The localisation offered us stunning sunsets and nice walks. And the house provided us all that we needed : cosy time by the fireplace, everything to cook proper dinners, items for the toddler, comfortable bedrooms, a nice garden and the nice company of the good dog Milo ! Thank you for everything Mary :)

Mary and Milo ( ;) ) were fantastic hosts, communication was great, and we felt incredibly comfortable and welcome at Clogher Cottage.

The cottage provided everything we needed and then some. Clear recommendation-- we're already planning our next stay! (One note: if the cottage's capacity of eight people were maxed out, then I imagine that plates and bowls would be in short supply. For two people doing they're own cooking we had enough to run the dishwasher only every second day or so).

Old style cottage close to a sandy beach when the tide is out. Quiet area but short drive to shop and restaurants.

This is the second time we have been here and we felt very comfortable again.

Mary Cotter is a very good host and ensures a great holiday feeling. We didn't miss anything and had everything we needed. We will definitely come back and can warmly recommend this accommodation.

We had a wonderful week in your beautiful cottage there was everything a family would need .

A nice mix of countryside and sea it was a lovely quiet area.

Mary was great with recommendations and the facilities was good. A ticker mattress would make it 10 out of 10 but it was a minor issue. Also lovely dog to say hello to and goodnight to every day and night.

Mrs. Cotter is charming, friendly and helpful. the accommodation is very cosy and well-kept and equipped with everything you need. we will definitely come back

A lovely spacious cottage in a lovely location.

Beds comfortable and landlady could not have been more helpful in every way. The house was a little cold on arrival which was more a problem for my dad than for us. Everything else was perfect. Everything was provided including added extras that you might forget like tea bags and other food items, as well as board games and jigsaws. She even provided buckets and spades on request! It is a short drive to restaurants and there are no shops locally but the beautiful scenery in Loch Donnell and the beach make up for everything.

We are so happy, that we rent the cottage with Mary.

She was very kind and we were allowed to come earlierer in the house. Mary send us some suggestions what to do and helped us in every case. We were surprised how many basic things are available in the cottage - from salt and pepper until wood for the fire - everything was prepared for us. Thanks for beeing such a great host! The cottage is very comfortable with 4 rooms and a very cosy fireplace room. We would come back again! The cottage is situated at the Atlantic, so you have a great view from your breakfast table! Great! Everyone, who loves the countryside, silence and an typical irish flair, is totally right at this cottage. We felt very comfortable.

We really enjoyed our stay and our contact was very helpful and it was reassuring to know she was at the other end of the phone.

There are two things which could be looked at.. For comfort the mattresses could really be updated and if there were seperate bins so we could have recycled. All in all we had a wonderful staycation!!

Lovely little cottage, very cosy and close to magnificent beaches.

Mary was very welcoming with a fire roaring as we arrived. The cottage is simply furnished and decorated with all that is needed for a nice stay. Plenty of hot water and lovely wood burning stove. It's a trek to the nearest pub and shop (10 minutes by car) but it's such a great location that's a price worth paying.

The cottage is more than just a holiday home, it is well equipped and has a certain charm to it.

As the weather was a bit miserable we enjoyed having the log burner and it felt cosy. Mary gave us all the necessary tips for the visits and there many to be made from this quiet setting but not so far from the Burren, The cliffs of Moher, ... The only drawback was the quality of the mattress we slept on. It is a metallic grid with fatigued springs protruding, I am of a normal weight, this cannot explain that. My husband and I think it was not up to the standards of the place and the price paid. It did not prevent us for having five marvellous days in Clare Co.

The property owner, Mary, was great.

The scenery around west Clare is stunning; travel around the coast to experience the best of the area.

The only draw back to the location is that there is little or no mobile coverage in the area and next to none in the cottage itself.

Its a lovely cottage, with all the trappings of home from home. Very friendly and helpful owners. The children loved the house and its a 2 minute walk to the beach. To note as well Doonbeg is a good 10 minute drive from the cottage. Overall it was an excellent stay.

Beautiful well equipped cottage for large family.

Lovely location with great beach walks and views of the Atlantic Ocean. Fabulous nearby restaurant, Tubridys in Doonbeg, excellent food.
