A perfect home from home. The garden is great for our dog and the location is so quiet and relaxing. The house has been updated with new sofas and furniture and the photos don’t do it justice. Cannot fault this place and look forward to our next stay

“We had a super stay at Lough Cluhir Cottage at the end of August with a week of fabulous weather.”

House was super for 2 adults, 2 kids and a dog with everything you need and very well stocked. Really comfortable and a short hop into Union Hall for a lovely pint in Dintys. We explored all the local places and visited a different beach every day. Highly recommend the house and the area. Highlights were a day trip to Sherkin Island and delicious dinner in Glandore. We'll hope to be back very soon.

“From the easy to follow booking process, to the seamless check-in/check-out experience, our stay at the Lough Cluhir cottage was wonderful.”

The location is rural and you will need to rely on the car for your day to day activities but it is close to lovely villages and major sights. The house is in excellent condition, offering a large, open plan area in the kitchen, living room. It feels like a home, rather than a holiday rental. Fast WiFi enabled us to work remotely from the cottage by day and and enjoy the views of the lake and cows on the fields. Whilst we had a couple of smaller issues with the plumbing, the owner went out of her way to make sure we got the help we needed. Strong Recommendation for anyone looking to escape to the country in a tranquil setting.

“The area is beautiful and so is the cottage, everything you need is there even a jacuzzi bath (we don't have this at home) Fast internet with which you can telephone around the world by installing the 'viber out'app.”

There are lots of books and DVD's and lots of TV Channels or Netflix (with your own account) to make a choice of. From the cottage you can have a walk around the lake and enjoy the nature and when it's raining you can visit Skibbereen, Bantry, Clonakilty where you visit museum or historical houses. In the cottage you find a booklet which informs you very well about all the tourist and dining possibilities in the area. We wish you a happy stay in Lough Cluhir Cottage

Lough Cluhir was so good, it had absolutely everything you needed. Very cosy with a log burning stove. The enclosed garden was brilliant for out doggie, he really enjoyed his stay too as he had such freedom.. Thanks again Sykes cottages, I have already recommended you to my friends.

“This is a lovely comfortable cosy cottage.”

It is well laid out, with a fully equipped kitchen, excellent wi-fi, a smart TV with netflix built in and an enclosed garden that was prefect for our dog. The location is very good, with lovely rural walks on the door step, close to a small village and easy access to the scenic sites of West Cork. we can recommend the local restuarants in Union Hall and Glandore. There is also a small fish shop in the village selling the fresh fish right of the boats that is wroth a visit. We had a wonderful holiday and would recommend this cottage

“An excellent location for a quiet holiday with water based activities close by.”

You can't see it from the photos, but there is a great view of the lake from the front windows. Squince beach with local walks is highly recommended. Close to Union Hall and Leap. Skibbereen and Rosscarbery are only 15 minutes drive from the house.

It is well positioned, clean and nicely furnished. It is the nicest cottage we have stayed in which is why we have just been back there for the fourth time. West Cork is a lovely part of Ireland and we are frequent visitors.

UNION HALL, COUNTY CORK

Skibbereen 7 miles.

Almost hidden in its own harbour, the small fishing village of Union Hall in West Cork has its own active fishing fleet, pleasure boats, and calm waters for water skiing, diving and canoeing. A causeway leads into the village, which is steeped in history, with castle ruins and forts scattered through the area. Today, the village offers a selection of pubs and seafood restaurants, a supermarket, fishmongers, a Post Office, a bureau de change and the annual Union Hall Festival, held every June, featuring a variety of games and watersports. Boat hire for visiting some of the off shore islands is available locally, while the village and surrounding area also offer good walking opportunities. The vibrant market town of Skibbereen, renowned as the capital of West Cork, is approximately 7 miles away, boasting colourful shops, restaurants and pubs, along with the fascinating West Cork Arts Centre and Skibbereen Heritage Centre.
