We have stayed at over 20 Sykes cottages over the years but this was the best.

From the amazing welcome basket and the lovely meal that Janeanne had left us our stay was brilliant.Fantastic cottage,lovely comfy beds and superb conservatory.Cannot fault this accommodation.Janeanne is a brilliant host even made us scones for our departure day.Big plus was the fox that came by every night to be fed,never been so close to a fox before.Have no hesitation in recommending this property.

Wow what a lovely host Janeanne was.

A huge hamper of goodies to get us going, nothing was too much trouble, she even went out to buy a new washer/dryer as the dryer failed when we were there. Always asking if we were warm enough as the weather was not great. On the morning of our departure we were given a loaf and more lovely scones. The nightly visit from the fox was an added bonus not seen one so close before. All in all a lovely comfortable place plenty of towels etc.

From the welcoming scones etc and greeting from Jane Ann our time was very enjoyable. We were well looked after and everything we needed was provided. Exploring West Cork was so easy from the cottage. It is in an excellent location.

The property itself is lovely, comfortable and is equipped with everything one could need for a relaxing break. The views are calming and far reaching. What in our opinion makes Raheen extra special is the welcome from the hosts. My wife and I spent 2 weeks at Raheen.

The property is in a lovely spot with far reaching views of the fields all around and is only a few minutes drive from a beach. The property owners Jane-Ann and John are absolutely second to none and are the loveliest people you could wish to meet. This was our 3rd visit to Raheen, we've already booked again for next year which I think speaks for itself. We regularly holiday in the southwest of Cork and we wouldn't stay anywhere else. Absolutely 5 star hospitality

Raheen is a wonderful base to tour the south west coast of Ireland or just kick back and relax in a lovely quiet home.

The owners go above and beyond to ensure your stay is as comfortable and as peaceful as possible. We cannot recommend highly enough how lovely it is staying in Raheen. We also think that any visitors would not hesitate to return, as we most certainly do. Great accommodation, great owners, great Irish welcome what’s not to like ❤️

The best equipped self catering house we have ever stayed in.

Can't recommend it highly enough! It has everything you could ever need on a holiday. Jane Ann was an exceptional host, who went above and beyond to cater for us and our 3 young children. The house was perfectly located to explore all of West Cork and we can't wait to return. Thank you again Jane Ann, you made our holiday so memorable.

We have recently spent a wonderful week staying at Raheen.

The cottage is one of the best we have stayed in every way possible. The location is excellent for visiting South West Cork which has an amazing coastline and numerous places to visit. Jane O'Brien (the owner) is a fabulous lady, kind, helpful and generous. On our arrival we found a fantastic buffet waiting for ourselves together with wine, chocolates etc which was so much appreciated and also unexpected. We would highly recommend Raheen and would most definitely stay again if we decide to revisit Southern Ireland. All in all a great 5* holiday and so many happy memories to take back home with us to the UK. Thanks again Jane

It’s location is perfect for visiting this part of West Cork .On arrival we found a welcome basket with and a couple of dinners in the fridge .We were overwhelmed and meeting Janeann was like meeting an old friend.She is the most friendly and generous person you will ever meet and despite what we seen and did ,Janeann is the one that made our holiday special .Thank you again so much ❤️

Loved the place, the hosts were awesome, the kids loved playing in the yard, everything was clean.

A lovely cottage and ideal holiday home.

The cottage itself has everything you are likely to need though must confess, we didn't have many requirements for cooking utensils etc as lots of our meals were taken at the very many wonderful establishments for delicious food in the locality and West Cork generally. Incidentally, as others have noted, Janeann is very generous and provided us with a welcome starter hamper and a farewell cake and scones. Can report they were delicious and much appreciated. The warm welcome certainly adds to the feeling of comfort and relaxation that a holiday in a lovely home and beautiful area provides. I suppose that some people might think we have overmarked certain points - the cottage is not a show piece. The marks are deserved because the home and its owners work together to make what, for us, was the "perfect holiday."

Myself and my wife had a wonderful 2 week stay at Raheen.

The property owners are both the most welcoming and kindest of people. We have holidayed in Ireland too many times to mention but have had the warmest of welcomes ever from the hosts at Raheen. This was our second visit to this property and we have already booked to go again next year. A beautiful first class holiday cottage,with every thing you required for the perfect Holiday!

Raheen is very peaceful with lovely views of the country side the perfect base for your holiday.We would not hesitate to return too Raheen for another holiday, the owner is extremely kind,generous and welcoming.

Extremely hospitable couple who went out of their way to provide us with a lovely holiday.

They unexpectedly laid on a meal for us on arrival and also a large basket of goodies. This was followed by scones the next day and also on the day of our departure. The bungalow was modern, well appointed and very comfortable. I cannot recommend this property highly enough. Absolutely excellent.

Jane Ann once again went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable and as welcoming as possible, the house had everything we needed and we wanted for nothing, we will be planning another trip back again for next summer, We are already looking forward to it. It's Beautiful home with big gardens for the kids to play in and the house is in perfect location with it being so close to Skibbereen town and also beautiful coastal drives and beaches just minutes away. We had a fantastic stay.

The home is very comfortable and well equipped. A truly hospitable host who made sure we had everything we needed for a relaxing few days away. Lovely!

It greatly appreciated because we were arriving late in day salads and snack were left in refrigerator for us .

The owner Jane went above and beyond including scones and jam delivered midweek. If we return to holiday again in this area it will be at Raheen.

We loved our stay in Raheen, it was central to our exploration of West Cork.

Jane was such a lovely and friendly host, who went out of her way to ensure we enjoyed our stay. We arrived to find fresh scones and a bottle of Prosecco waiting for us. And when she learned this was my partners birthday present, a birthday cake and another bottle. All in all it was a fantastic holiday.

Absolutely brilliant property with everything one needs and the host is amazing.

The property was as described.

Jane-Anne was so generous with all the goodies that she left for us. Definitely the best we have ever had! It was great to be able to eat in the light and spacious conservatory. Masses of outside space with plenty of garden furniture. Well equipped and quiet situation located conveniently for Skibbereen and various coastal villages and bays "Simply the best!!"

This cottage is set just outside Skiberreen in the beautiful rolling hills of County Cork.

It's easy to find and has everything you need. The sun lounge is the perfect place to watch the local cows and sheep. But what sets this place apart is the host: she is very helpful without being intrusive and provided us with an amazing welcome pack. All in all, a very relaxing and civilised place.

The cottage is in a great location for visiting various locations around stunning West Cork. The hosts were fantastic. I’ve never known hospitality like it!

Our stay at Raheen was perfect, we had everything that was needed in the house and it was only 5 minute drive into skibbereen, and Jane Ann and her family were lovely genuine people, I have never had such a warm welcome for a holiday home before, Jane Ann went above and beyond to make us feel right at home and I am already looking forward to going back there.

Jane Ann and John are very accommodating hosts who go beyond what is expected.

From the warm welcome on arrival, to the warm scones on Saturday morning, this is truly a lovely place to stay. There is everything one could need for a holiday- the bungalow is very well equipped and Jane Ann will ensure that guests have anything extra that they require. From the bungalow there is easy access to the beaches at Tragumna and Tralispeen, to the sailing hub in Baltimore and the Sheep’s Head, Mizen and Beara peninsulas with their stunning scenery. We have already booked for our third visit next year!

Raheen is a lovely cottage situated in an excellent spot for exploring the stunning south west coast of Ireland.

The cottage was well equipped and comfortable. The nearby town of Skibbereen provided for necessary shopping as well as having an interesting Heritage museum. Our delightful host was most welcoming and we really appreciated her generosity. We would certainly highly recommend Raheen.

Raheen is an extremely clean and comfortable bungalow with many thoughtful extras provided that helped to make our holiday very special.

Jane Ann had left us a beautifully laid table to welcome us with scones and jam and so many other goodies and food for our stay in the fridge that was such a treat on arrival. We could just unpack, relax and enjoy our holiday. Highly recommended.

We have stayed in Ireland before and we know the people are some of the most caring in the world but the owner of this holiday home is the nicest and most generous we have ever met. The location is perfect for visiting towns and beaches along the Atlantic Way. Standing outside the house looking up at a sky dense with stars and no light interference is a memory we'll hold onto forever. Everything you could want is available including bbq, beach chairs, toiletries. We arrived late in the evening. Jane-Ann contacted us to make sure we had good directions and to let us know there was plenty of food in the fridge. She had prepared salads, cold meats, breads, wine, beer, cider, milk and a birthday cake for me! She had also left fresh flowers, a birthday card, fruit and chocolates. She then made us fresh warm scones on our first and last morning. She was helpful throughout with suggestions and ideas for visits and so kind and friendly. We honestly were overwhelmed by her generosity. The property was clean, comfortable, well maintained, easy to find with beautiful views and a garden.

The expression “a home away from home “ is often used but this is genuinely that.

We arrived at Raheen on a wet late afternoon to find food for our tea in the fridge along with 2 bottles of wine and a plate of homemade scones and jam.

The bungalow is comfortable and was clean and welcoming. I loved sitting in the sun room with views out over the fields. Beds were comfortable and Jane Ann had told us to take anything extra we needed from the hot press.Jane Ann made us scones on 2 other occasions. Nothing too much trouble for her. If Inwere dow that area again I would not hesitate to stay here again.

We had a short but wonderful stay in Raheen.

Very clean, comfortable, plenty of room, nice views. Everything you need is present and even more. Our host, Jane-Ann is lovely and very generous and hospitable. She made us a lot of food because we arrived later in the evening with a good bottle of wine. The neighborhood is quiet, very nice with lovely villages around. We Dutch hated the small Irish roads and fast drivers but that's how it is. In summary a place that we very much can recommondate.

A clean, comfortable and well equiped bungalow well situated for visiting West Cork with plenty to do and see in the area and not too further afield.

Our host was very friendly and welcoming with sandwiches and cake on our arrival with goodies in the fridge too. The property has an open fire and with plenty of blocks available it was very cosy in the evenings. I would highly recommend this accommodation for your holiday.

Raheen is in an ideal location for touring . The house was very comfortable and we were pleasantly surprised by the sandwiches and cake provided on arrival by Jane Ann as well as other goodies !!! She was most helpful and we would definitely return if we visit this area again.

We were provided with a meal in the oven when we arrived after a long journey, and two others in the freezer and also a food and drinks hamper which exceeded all our expectations. There was also a fire burning. Throughout our stay she was unobtrusively supportive and also left scones and cake on 4 occassions for us. Amazing hospitality which made our stay very memorable.

The house was located in a beautiful setting. It was spacious and very well equipped. Jane Anne was close by in the event of any queries. She was a delight to meet and generously delivered toys, activity books on a rainy day. Would thoroughly recommend.

The welcome from Jane Anne was second to none. A beautiful fire burning in the grate, beautiful sandwiches in the fridge also scones, wine, beer, and lots of goodies. Jane Anne went over and above even giving us a goodie bag to bring home as we didn't have time to have tea and scones with her before we left. We would definitely recommend this holiday cottage

Our hostess was extremely heplful and thoughtful.

She provided us with a lovely lunch on arrival and also provided us with a dinner on the first day as she knew we would be too tired to cook. The house was lovely, everything you would need and lovely scenerary. Would go back again.

Great place to meet friends for BBQ.

Etant une PMR j'avais demandé la hauteur du seuil de la porte principale et celle de la véranda, on m'a dit 3 à 5 cm et en fair c"était 15 et 18 cm, ce qui m'a occasionné quelques soucis.

En dehors de cela cette location est parfaite, magnifique véranda au toit en bois cheminée très bien aussi. La propriétaire est très chaleureuse et fournit un pack de bienvenue généreux avec un plus : une assiette de mini sandwichs au jambon, très agréable attention après la route. Beaucoup de petites villes à proximité et les péninsules et si c'est pour la période d'Halloween, ne manquez pas le village de Peal très joliment décoré pour cette fête. Je recommende vivement cette location.

The welcome was really outstanding.

There was a full tea on the table which included sandwiches, scones and cake and there was a bottle of wine in the fridge in addition to milk and butter. Jane Anne was very attentive and very welcoming. The conservatory was very comfortable and from the windows there was a full panorama of sloping fields in which lived 90 cows. The view was amazing and kept us fascinated for a week with the daily routine of the cows and the farm opposite. We loved the cottage and the area and had a full week doing the "Wild Atlantic Way" from Glengarriff to Tramore... This completed our mission to do the whole route from north to south over four weeks in four years. If we were to return anywhere it would be to Raheen.

West Cork is a great part of the country to visit with loads to do and see which made the holiday very special for us.
