Wisteria Cottage

A spacious, light, comfortable cottage, with a well equipped kitchen, in a beautiful part of the world, and easy access to a general shop and good restaurants.

Unfortunately we had a problem with heating and hot water for several days, and had to rely on the one electric shower, a pity as we had chosen the cottage partly to provide en suite facilities for three rooms. Understandably, as the host/contact was in hospital with a baby arriving, response was a little slow, but glad to say it was sorted and that the baby arrived safely!

We had just returned from a week’s stay at Wisteria Cottage, and will be keen to return in the future.

We had a problem with heating at hot water the morning after we arrived, however the owners came out when we phoned, even though it was Easter Sunday. We were really grateful for this and the problem was solved the following day. The location of the property was perfect for the village and the house was clean and comfortable. The velux windows in the bedrooms upstairs didn’t have blinds which made the rooms light early in the morning, but we would know to take masks or travel blinds for next time

A lovely house, and the group enjoyed their stay in a beautiful area with good facilities locally.

Those include a hotel provisind good food, Tide & Time cafe and a really good pub in Sharkey's Bar, all within walking distance. Some minor gripes about the house - the bedroom Velux windows definitely need blinds fitted as you can be woken up very early in the summer months by the daylight (and sometimes sunshine!) bursting into all the upstairs bedrooms. The instruction book needs updating as the TV has changed and we were unable to access terrestrial channels. The wi-fi box has also changed from that described in the instruction folder. A spare door key would be better rather than having to use the lockbox if the group is out separately. Lastly, the garden area is poor for sitting out - four rusty garden chairs and a small table hardly makes it inviting

The house was first class if we had to be critical the outside area needed some TLC we had some lovely afternoons which were slightly tarnished by the rear which would be greatly advanced by an area of perhaps ‘Astro turf’/flagged area and more comfortable seating to enjoy a sundowner?

Nit picking the plastic white windows, guttering etc. could do with washing, the drive/garden could be tidied to enhance the kerb appeal,… it really is nice! Finally internally my only gripe was there were no pillow cases in the downstairs bedroom a possible oversight? I must end by saying we thoroughly enjoyed our week in Wisteria Cottage apart the property is excellent, a credit to the owners!

Lovely roomy house with a great comfy ,cosy Sun/garden room.

Lovely village with some good eating places and Ideal for exploring Donegal. The kitchen utensils eg saucepans were poor they looked as though they were too well worn. The garden was uninviting but that may have been the time of year. The TV was good and the beds were very comfortable. I would stay again.I include the negatives not to put people off but to allow for improvement.Overall a good experience .Thankyou

This cottage was in a beautiful location and allowed us to explore the West Donegal coast.

The conservatory had a very comfortable sofa to relax on during the evenings. The bathrooms were all modern and clean. We had some minor observations. The Wi-Fi code provided by Sykes was not correct to the code in the cottage and it took us a while to figure it out. The listing says car park space for 3 cars. The drive is steep with an uneven surface for cars and I think 3 medium cars would be a squeeze so if you are a large party, I would check that out. We were blessed with great weather and the property only had metal chairs outside. It would have been lovely to have had more comfy outdoor seating. Overall a lovely cottage in a superb location.

Beautiful property in a great location.

Could do with blinds in the bedrooms and a proper seating outside space.

House is really lovely - a bit of New England in Donegal.

It's very large so plenty of space for everybody. It's also well stocked.
