Inverbeg Cottage 1

The house was very cold when we arrived so we had a big heating bill for only 2 days as we tried to get it warm for my older parents.

Towels need replacing as worn and hard. Nice garden furniture in the pic is now a very basic picnic bench. Overall a bit basic and unloved but good layout and location x

Our second stay at Inverbeg (we last stayed in 2018) and although not much has changed, the property is still excellent.

Spacious, lovely conservatory, views of the sea, plenty of cutlery, crockery and general kitchen equipment. One small comment - the matresses are somewhat soft and for us older holiday makers, a firm(ish) matress is important. We hope to return to this lovely property located in such a magical part of Ireland.

The house is lovely.

However, we had issues with the logistics concerning the damage deposit. We were prepared with cash as advertised, however, the owner insisted we wire the deposit days early. This caused significant inconvenience for us. Then, she returned the deposit minus utilities via a site we had no connection with. The house has a water view, but no beach access from the property. Neighbors helped to show a way to walk to a nearby lovely beach. Upstairs showers were impossible to regulate water temperature. Downings is a charming town; The Harbour Bar, the best! Sunday Night trad session a must.
