LOCH ILLION VIEW

Loch Illion View was perfect for our needs, beautiful, comfortable and central to all the things we like to do as a family while in Donegal.

With our booking being last minute we were delighted with the welcome pack that Mary had put together for our arrival as it was totally unexpected. We really enjoyed putting on the fire and watching a movie while the storm passed by on Saturday it's was very cosy. We will definitely visit again soon

On arrival at the Cottage, access was very easy via the lock box.

When we entered the cottage we were met with a wonderful welcome pack. The fire was set and ready to light with enough fuel to keep us going for a couple of days. Mary was very thoughtful which was great after a long day travelling. The house was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. We had a very relaxing break even though the weather wasn't great. It was nice and cosy looking out at the lake while the wind was howling outside. We really enjoyed our stay and would be happy to go back again. Thank you Mary for all you did. Anne and Paul.

The cottage is lovely and Mary, the owner, had left us lots of nice treats. The cottage is well located and has everything one needs for a comfortable stay. The only negative was that we were cold, but once I worked out how to regulate the heating, it was perfect. Highly recommend.

House was beautiful and Mary was the best host, she really went above and beyond. Location was super, the house was much bigger than the photos suggest and had literally everything we could have wanted or needed. Outdoor dining area at the back of the house was a lovely surprise and we were even lucky enough to get the weather to barbecue! Thank you Mary for having us. Hope to get back again soon

What a gem!

We were looking for something rural, away from lots of people and this ticked all our boxes. There's a lovely view of the loch from the lounge and two of the bedrooms. The accommodation was comfy and cosy, the water was very hot and the heating worked well but thankfully we didn't need the woodburner. It was an ideal base to explore more of the Wild Atlantic Way and there are lovely beaches 4km down the road past the cottage. The kitchen was fully equipped (except for a potato peeler :)) and the welcome pack was lovely including fresh home made scones - delicious. The road in front of the property is quite busy and the cars go past at quite a speed so if you wanted children to be able to play outside, I think that might be a worry as there is no gate. Mary was a great host, check in/out info was provided well in advance and was easy to follow. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the cottage.
