“Ferry's is the perfect location for a quiet break short or long.”

Tina is an excellent host and always on hand to provide assistance to making a stay comfortable and enjoyable. There were a couple of issues with the accommodation requiring a call out from them and electrician. It was handled quickly efficiently and provided alternative heat while repair was made to heating switch. The area is breathtakingly beautiful and the location very close to beach and good amenities on route to get supplies. I highly recommend a stay anytime of year. I have visited at ...

It has a lovely area for sitting outside and being able to view the sea and beyond gave the accommodation that extra excellence! “The owners were very friendly & welcoming.”

We only used one bedroom but our bed was very comfortable and we slept well. The central heating system was fabulous and within half an hour the cottage was lovely and warm. Similarly, there was plenty of hot water. The new walk-in shower was excellent but clients need to put a bath mat down as the bathroom floor tiles are very slippy when wet. The kitchen was very well-equipped. Had we been using all 3 bedrooms I think we would have found the lounge too small and we also thought that it was quite dark. The cottage is situated in a perfect location for visiting the local area. Portsalon beach is truly stunning. This was our first trip to Ireland and we loved it.

A lovely welcoming detached cottage just a ten minute walk from the seaside resort of Portsalon in County Donegal.

A perfect base for families and friends to explore this lovely part of Ireland.

With all the accommodation being on the ground floor, this property is comfortably furnished, having an open plan living area, comprising fitted kitchen, dining area and sitting area with multi-fuel stove where you can relax with a good book and a refreshing drink.

There are three bedrooms and a family bathroom.

Take the opportunity of dining alfresco in the area at the front of the cottage.

The coastal village of Portsalon is world famous for its state-of-the-art golf course and its Blue Flag beach which has been awarded status as the second most beautiful beach in the world.

There is also a charming spirit-grocers where you can buy sweets and basic provisions at one end of the counter and a drink to quench your thirst at the other.

Venture farther afield and drive past rugged sea cliffs on the way to Rathmullan a small seaside town and just a few miles from the Fanad Head lighthouse.

Ferrys cottage is an ideal choice for spending time touring this stunning part of Ireland.

PORTSALON, COUNTY DONEGAL

Resting on the western bank of Lough Swilly is the tiny seaside resort of Portsalon, home to one of Ireland’s top golf courses. Portsalon makes for a wonderful base for exploring the Fanad Peninsula, and boasts a picturesque harbour at Ballymastocker Bay, where you will find one of the most spectacular beaches in Ireland. Visitors can try many outdoor pursuits in this region, including golf, surfing, fishing, diving and kayaking, or if you prefer to explore in comfort and style, then the Knockalla Coastal Road encompasses excellent seascapes and lake scenery. The historic town of Rathmullan, south of Portsalon, provides a lovely afternoon out, where you can take a tour of the Kinnegar Brewery and hopefully sample some of the local produce!
