1 Ard Carraig

Excellent property.

Owners were great, the home has many extra touches. Just outstanding.

5 stars well deserved for this property.

comfy beds, well equipped kitchen, lovely seaside decor throughout, living area well laid out and the views, fabulous, info provided clear and helpful. great hot tub. Pub over the road warm and welcoming, Harbour Haven restaurant open Thursday to Sunday highly reccommended. We would stay again.

This was a wonderful stay.

The house is comfortable and has everything needed to enjoy a break. The view is wonderful and an added bonus is the hot tub.

We had acreally relaxing and enjoyable time.

the house is in a great location - easily accessible. thnx

Accommodation was, clean, comfortable and bright.

The cottage had wonderful views of beach and surrounding hills. Facilities were excellent and we had a wonderful week there.

Lovely stay in Portsalon.

House was great and had all facilities we needed, even got to use the BBQ in Sept which was a pleasant surprise. Garden is massive and well maintained, our dog loved having the space. The hot-tub was a welcome bonus. Portsalon in Sept was quiet but that suited us. Drank in the pub and ate at the golf course, everyone was friendly and welcoming. The beach is beautiful and very close. There is a Lidl about 15/20 mins drive and a decent shop in Kerrykeel which is slightly closer. All in all, would stay again and recommend.

Top marks!

Excellent accommodation, we were left wanting for nothing. Perfect for families, friends or a romantic break. Location and view from house, beautiful. Equipment in the home, it has everything. Clean as a whistle, really comfortable and worked perfectly for the temperamental Irish weather. From sunshine to frost. Not to mention the friendly service and accessibility of a contact if you needed anything. The Hot Tub was the icing on the cake. Such a treat. Looking forward to going back already.

Lovely property, so well equipped with everything you could ask for.

It felt very homely. The hot tub was the highlight of the property for us, even in November! Beautiful beach only a few minutes from the house, we loved our morning walks there during our stay! A lovely area which we would like to return to some day.

We loved our stay at Ard Carraig.

The house is very well planned out for holiday makers and has everything you need. It's very clean and the Hot Tub is a real luxury. The location is brilliant near to a beautiful beach. We've stayed in a few different holiday homes in Ireland now and this was our favourite.

The house was spectacular, it was the cleanest and best house I have stayed into date and I have already booked again for next year!

The views were stunning and the jacuzzi was a real bonus, would be even better if it had shelter to use during the rain. The only negative thing I would highlight is a pretty bad leak in the ceiling hallway when it rained, which had stained the ceiling and created mould so looks like an on going issue. The 2nd thing that needs highlighted is the electric shower, multiple times it tripped the electric and this is a serious health and safety issue. I hope you are able to resolve this as the house is truly stunning.

Absolutely fantastic place to stay, a little bit of heaven.

Cottage fantastic, very well equipped. The scenery from the cottage is just breathtaking.Portsalon is beautiful. Everyone made us feel so welcome. One of the best places we have stayed.

Holiday property was amazing, beautiful clean and well equipped!

! Would highly recommend!

We had an amazing week.

The house is beautiful and has everything you might need. A short walk there is a fantastic beach. It's very quiet. A perfect place to relax and recharg.

Great property and host

Fantastic stay at ard carrig, lovely home with brilliant facilities, one of the niceste Irish beaches within walking distance and plenty to see in the local area, hosts were very pleasant would highly recommend it as a getaway

We were absolutely delighted with this property.

The real selling point is the living area which has huge space and fabulous views. The outside area is also beautiful with lovely furniture for dining outdoors when weather allows, in addition to a beautiful lawn. They have added 2 swings which were great fun for our 4 and 1 year olds. They had all the facilities that you would need for a nice holiday. Therr are gorgeous beaches within walking distance and we got to spend a fabulous day on the beach when the sun shone. One point visitors should note is that the local restaurants are not open Monday to Thursday until june (at the earliest) and the Pierside is only doing takeaway Friday and Saturday in May. We chose this house because it had local facilities for meals, so this was a disappointment. It was a small blip om what was a fabulous holiday. I would highly recommend this accommodation

1Ard Carraig is an amazing place, the property has everything you need and more.

The location is second to none and it gives privacy also. The hot tub was the icing on the cake. Wendy and Peter are lovely hosts and very accommodating. We highly recommend 1 Ard Carraig.

We had such a lovely holiday here!

The house is perfect and equipped with everything that you could possibly need! Great views and right beside the beach! We will definitely be booking again!

A lovely cottage they had everything from golf clubs to every utensil you would require couldn't ask for a nicer cottage 100% great value.

Booked for 7 days with my boyfriend 30/10/21-06/11/21 The house is very well set up with everything you could possibly need; utensils, cleaning products, towelling for hot tub, additional games/supplies in shed and even set up to have young children with toys, books and furniture.

Detailed booklet left out explaining the house and important information. It is such a private home with big grounds. Very peaceful in the hot tub and can see the stars above. The beach located a couple minutes walk is lovely for a stroll. Could honestly say, the best setting we’ve ever stayed in! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay for the week and the owners were very kind and helpful throughout. Couldn’t recommend the house enough! Definitely looking to come back next year for another break.

Lovely property in a wonderful location.

Would rent again in a heartbeat - but preferably with some sunshine lol.

Outstanding property with amazzzing facilities Have already booked this property to stay again for a week next year

Fabulous house.

Great privacy. We all loved the hot tub. Outside garden is brilliant and the patio is amazing. We will be back!! Thank you

we really enjoyed our relaxing holiday , we cut it short due to the fact there was nothing open ,on speaking to family they told us that's how it is at this time of year we thought it was because of covid.

otherwise the place was great

We had a lovely week in Portsalon, the house was ideal for us as a family of four , kids loved the hot tub and the large garden , so close to beach and perfect for a base to see Donegal although you will not want to leave the house or Portsalon once you get there !

Also everything was provided that was needed and more! Will definitely stay again

Had a really relaxing break.

Everything we could possibly need was available for use. Will definitely book again. Very helpful landlady.

This 3 bedroom property was perfect for a family get together - complete with everything you could need for a relaxing stay, including games, dvds, a fully equipped kitchen and an amazing hot tub - and fluffy bathrobes!

A 5 minute walk to a beautiful beach was the cherry on top. The owners should be very proud of this beautiful property and I would highly recommend it to everyone - we will certainly be back!

The property is within walking distance of reasonable eating facilities and within a short drive of convenience stores.

The beach is within reasonable walking distance too. A great property in a great location.

This was by far the best holiday home we have stayed in over the years.

Our hosts were so thoughtful, with small details such as beach towels, the Nespresso machine and a small television in the children's room making the house really seem like home. The hot tub was a real luxury, with such a beautiful view.

The property is exactly as advertised and very attractive and comfortable.

The large indoor and outdoor living spaces are great and unusual in a holiday rental. As mentioned by the owners, the garden is enclosed, but if your dog is a dedicated escapologist he/she could get through the hedging. Thankfully mine were happy to wander around the garden, tired out from great runs on the beach. We travelled a lot, took the ferry across to Inishowen and toured around, across to the Giant’s Causeway another day, Glenveagh National Park and up to Dunfanaghy. The scenery is superb and unspoilt, a wonderful part of the world. Highly recommended.

Put a rubber mat in shower cubicle as it’s very slippy.

The heating is very powerful and would like to be instructed on how to turn it down. Could find thermostat

This is our 3rd time here as a family.

It has a great location in relation to the beach particularly for young children. Good to have access to internet.

Beautiful property with stunning views.

Just go..it will do your heart good.

The cottage was perfect, location and cleanliness but also now equipped it was with a top range tv, Netflix, WiFi etc and it also has everything you could want in a drawer somewhere.

The owners clearly invest a lot in this property and it was a pleasure to stay in. We will definitely return.

The house was amazing!

Absolutely beautiful, comfortable and cosy. The scenery was breathtaking. The landlord and lady were very kind and had literally everything you could ever need in the house. Would definitely go back!

Very peaceful location.

The house was so well equipped. Best holiday home we have ever stayed. Perfect for chilling or enjoying the great outdoors. Highly recommend. Can’t wait to go back.

The house was exactly as described but better!

Would recommend anyone to stay here if looking for a property in the North West of Ireland . We visited Londonderry, the Giants Causeway and Slieve League . The pub in the village is very friendly too and the tests next door is not bad for a casual meal , all in all a great holiday !

Wow!

Where do I begin? On arrival we were greeted by the lovely owners who gave us a guided tour around the property, they were very helpful and explained how everything worked and where everything was (ie. towels and so on..). Very well equipped kitchen will all the modern appliances you could wish for! Everything has been thought of down to the finest detail, board games, beach towels, bath robes, dvds, books and so much more! The extra plus it’s dog friendly. The hot-tub is amazing and is situated so you can see the mountains and the portsalon bay (just breathtaking!), the garden is really big for kids to play in and there is also a outside seating areas and bbq. There’s a bar and restaurant within walking distance of the cottage so you don’t need to organise a taxi! The bar is lovely and cosy, they also welcome dogs and boast beautiful views looking out over the bay, a added bonus for sports fans is they have BT and skysports. The restaurant offers and variety of foods and its delicious, the owner is very welcoming and you may even catch him in the bar the odd evening for a chat and some craic. If needed there is a local supermarket that provides the essentials down the round a few miles or you could make a short trip to Lidl which is 15mins away. Highly recommend!!! We are already planning our next trip. The Hodson’s/Nixon family

This is a beautiful holiday home which I would highly recommend to anyone.

It had everything in it and so many little extras like the coffee machine and loads of towels it felt like a home away from home. Lovely open plan living area with large tv and lovely gas stove. Stunning views over looking the sea from the living area and also from the lovely patio area. The hot tub was amazing again overlooking the sea and at night you could hear the waves crashing. The large garden was completely enclosed and safe for toddlers. The only thing I would suggest for toddlers is some kind of a temporary gate/fence at the top of the steps and again at the bottom of both sides just to know they can't climb up or down them. Something that can be lifted away easily so as not to spoil the lovely glass fence. I will definitely look into coming back here as we all enjoyed it soo much. Thank you.

Fabulous location and extremely comfortable and well equipped house.

Would definitely go back.

A delightful property, warm, sunny, comfortable.

The enclosed garden a bonus for our dog. Excellent property and location. Our thanks to Mrs. Morrow, whom we hope to meet again.

The cottage was east to book, very easy to find and a superb place to stay in a stunning location.

The Hot tub was superb, bbq facilities are one of the best ever used and the location to beach, bar and golf club couldn't get any better.

This was by far the best holiday rental we have stayed in.

The house is so well equipped with excellent facilities. The views over the bay are stunning and can be enjoyed from the lounge windows and from the patio area and hot tub. The beach is a 3 minute walk away. Highly recommended.

Wonderful idyllic location to stay and explore.

Highly recommended!

This is our second time at this gorgeous home, my only recommendations for future would be to renew the couch and address the dampness in main bedroom.

However it did not hinder our time, the place is beautiful and the owner's very friendly

This cottage has everything and a bit more.

Amazing views and fab hot tub

Wonderful relaxing holiday.

Cottage equipment exceeded our expectations. The location is Great, ideal for the beach and the tranquillity of North West Ireland. We will plan a return visit.

A lovely week in a verybeautiful location, with wonderful views.

It is remote as it was off season, but just what we wanted. Weather was great. House was brilliant and very cosy.

Maybe the provision of WIFI would be useful; the location is quite remote and the shop/café is only open seasonally.

Some of the leaflets were out of date so it was difficult for us to search for stuff to do that was actually open. You may also want to note, it relevant, that the Swilly ferry from Rathmulin has ceased operation for the foreseeable future. Using the ferry would cut at least an hour from a journey over to Inisowen peninsula and Malin Head. This has only just happened and from what we heard it's down to funding.
