Ard Na Mara
Description
Ard Na Mara is set within the quiet village of Drung, close to Quigley’s Point in County Donegal, and provides a generous and well-arranged retreat for families or groups looking to enjoy a restful coastal break.
With open views and a calm setting, the property offers plenty of space both inside and out, making it well suited to longer stays or holidays spent exploring the Inishowen Peninsula.
Inside, the house is laid out with comfort and practicality in mind.
A bright sitting room with an open fire offers a welcoming place to relax after a day outdoors, while a separate dining room, warmed by a woodburning stove, is ideal for shared meals and evenings together.
The sun room is a particular highlight, filled with natural light and offering a peaceful spot to enjoy a morning coffee while taking in the surrounding scenery.
The kitchen is spacious and well equipped, featuring an AGA alongside an electric hob and ample preparation space, supported by a useful utility room.
A separate study provides a quiet corner for reading or catching up on work if needed.
The sleeping accommodation is equally generous, with four well-presented bedrooms arranged to suit a range of group sizes.
Two king-size rooms benefit from en-suite walk-in showers, while a family room offers a double and single bed, and a further twin room provides flexible sleeping.
A family bathroom and a ground-floor cloakroom add further convenience.
Outside, off-road parking is available, along with a front garden and lawn that works well for relaxing on warmer days.
The surrounding area offers plenty to see and do.
Quigley’s Point sits at the edge of Lough Foyle, with scenic coastal walks close by.
The nearby towns of Moville and Greencastle provide cafés, pubs and small shops, while the bustling city of Derry is within easy driving distance for shopping, dining and historic attractions.
Further afield, Malin Head offers dramatic coastal scenery and walking routes, and the wider Inishowen Peninsula is dotted with beaches, viewpoints and quiet villages.

What guests are saying
Ard Na Mara is a beautiful house - very spacious and modern, with all facilities and well maintained.
The view over Lough foyle is gorgeous and it was nice to sit looking at the view when the weather was good. If I had a criticism it would only be that it's a few minutes drive to the nearest pub or restaurant so a car is always required. But as we went as 2 families that wasn't that big an issue for us. The location itself is perfect for touring Inish Eoin or for trips into Derry city. Booked with Sykes which was very straightforward and transparent re costs.
We had a great week at Ard Na Mara.
Super house, clean and very comfortable. Gardens were well maintained and very pretty. Beautiful view of the lough, the kids loved using the binoculars to see what they could spot. We used the games from the cupboard for the evenings and all the toys came out to the dining room, my 7 year old was extremely happy with the little space under the stairs for making dens and shops and a puppet show! We would love to stay again, it was an ideal location to explore local beaches. We spent evenings at in the house as we had our dog with us so it would have been lovely to have had some garden furniture as the evenings were warm enough to sit outside. We couldn't let the dog roam freely outside as there is a big gap under the main gates but on the lead it was a great space to walk her around and up the lanes too. The house was very warm inside the house as the aga is on all the time and under floor heating, it would be really cosy in the cooler months but this week it was a little too warm. Overall we had an enjoyable week in a really lovely place. Just a note to say, as our drive shaft snapped on the first night we had to use a local garage, Kings garage 3 mins towards Moville was excellent, reasonably priced and the car back by Wednesday. Letterkenny Enterprise car hire and Kings were both 10/10 for service and convenience.
Ard Na Mara is a fantastic house to stay in, its spacious, really well equipped, spotlessly clean when we arrived, overall very comfortable with amazing views.
I would thoroughly recommend it!
