“What an amazing holiday.”

The cottage was lovely and the owners were friendly and welcoming and helpful when needed, yet unobtrusive during the stay. The cottage was clean and comfortable with everything needed during our stay. The owners had provided milk and a few treats (wine, chocolate biscuits etc) for our arrival. All of the linen and towels were fresh and clean. Bathrooms were clean and all essential items were provided. The view from the rear are spectacular and there are a few friend horses and donkey in the ...

The cottage was clean and comfortable with everything needed during our stay. The owners had provided milk and a few treats (wine, chocolate biscuits etc) for our arrival. All of the linen and towels were fresh and clean. Bathrooms were clean and all essential items were provided. The view from the rear are spectacular and there are a few friend horses and donkey in the field near by. The location was perfect for the ferry to the Aran Isles just a 5-10 minute walk. Also for exploring County Galway, especially the Connemara region. About 50 minute drive from Galway and a hour from Clifden. Cottage was clean. Overall we had an amazing stay.

“Comfortable and well equipped cottage in a beautiful quiet location and ideally situated for ferries to the Aran Islands.”

The property is spacious, well maintained and spotlessly clean. It has all the equipment you could reasonably require. The setting is delightful with views over the Lough and lots of Galway dry stone walls. Should love to return!

“Hosts Michael and Eileen very pleasant.”

House is in great condition overall. It is a 10 minute walk to the ferry terminal for ARAN ISLANDS and is ideally located for day trips around the stunningly beautiful Connemara. However,there is one problem. The central heating boiler is located right in the kitchen! Strangely,the boiler is located within a range type cooker.. The problem is,when in use,there is a horrible smell of kerosene throughout the kitchen...not nice when you're having a meal. Also,boiler is very noisy. We had the boiler on whilst eating every time,as weather is unseasonably very cold in Ireland at the moment. Also,cutlery is of very low quality...more like what one would have whilst camping.

Thank you for your review and for your kind comments about the house cleanliness and facilities. We were sorry to hear afterwards that you were unhappy with aspects of your stay particularly as we checked with you twice during your visit and were told everything was perfect. Following your comments we checked the Stanley range carefully and could not detect any kerosene smell. The slight noise mentioned can occur briefly when the range is starting similar to many oil-fired systems, but it is normally minimal. We have been welcoming guests for many years and this is the first time concerns regarding smell or noise from the range has been raised. Regarding the cutlery we provide standard stainless steel cutlery which are in good condition and suitable for every day holiday use. We always appreciate guests feedback and will continue to monitor everything carefully to ensure guests enjoy a comfortable stay. regards, Eileen Property Owner

“The cottage was spotlessly clean and tidy.”

The friendly hosts Eileen and Michael popped in to say hello on our first evening, and were available nearby should we need them. They had left a bottle of wine, milk and biscuits in the fridge for us. The cottage was cosy and warm and had everything we needed for our week's holiday. The location was perfect for exploring Galway City and the beautiful scenery of Connemara. We had a wonderful week, and the weather was mostly good too! Thank you!

“Lovely homely property in a quiet rural village.”

We loved the quiet location with the donkeys nearby. Eileen came to introduce herself which was a lovely touch along with the welcome pack was really appreciated after a long drive to the cottage. The ferry to Aran a five minute walk plus a pub and handy spar shop too. I would highly recommend Rosaveel cottage if you’re looking for peace and tranquillity away from everyday busy life. An ideal base for exploring the Connemara national park.

“This is an outstanding property, located is such a peaceful location, you can walk to the ferry for the islands if you want to.”

The house was absolutely spotless and had all necessary bedding, towels, utensils etc. The area is quite but the scenery is unreal, a hours drove from clifden and about the same from Kylemore abbey, there really is something for all the family. A great location and lovely warm welcoming hosts!

“The host was lovely and nice gesture of welcome pack.”

House in lovely quiet location. Car is essential here though as travel anywhere takes a while. House was good size. We all found beds uncomfortable. Although clean the house needs upgrading as was old fashioned (rather than quaint) and the need to have boiler on to get hot water was not ideal when hot weather even though just for hour. We had musty smells in wardrobes, cabinets and bathrooms with evidence of damp. Showers outdated. Has lots of mod cons such as air fryer and washer and tumble dryer which was perfect. Everything you need in kitchen. Had a great holiday though. We took games which we needed as quiet at night times. However we loved the peace and quiet to relax. With a little bit of love and paint this house would be perfect home from home. Highlight was the donkeys and cows in fields next to house. Cong was our highlight about hours drive. Host left lots of leaflets which were great as were the maps. Little spar shop down the road had the best ice cream

“Lovely cottage.”

Everything needed for a holiday and that home from home experience provided for. Surroundings very relaxing. Owners on hand if needed. Proximity to ferry for Aran Islands a plus. Lovely drives walks and beaches around area. We had beautiful weather. The bottle of wine and chocolate treats on arrival were a lovely touch. I would highly recommend.

“Our stay at the Irish holiday cottage was absolutely spectacular!”

From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by how impeccably clean and well-maintained everything was. The attention to detail made it feel like a true home away from home. We were greeted with a lovely welcome package of local treats, which put us at ease after our journey. The cottage had everything we needed. The house itself was beautiful, with breathtaking views of the Irish countryside, and every room was bright, spacious, and spotless. The hosts clearly took great care in maintaining the property, and their love for it was evident in every detail. Their hospitality was exceptional – they were always available to answer questions but gave us plenty of space to relax. Every aspect of our stay was completely stress-free, thanks to how thoughtfully everything was organized. We can’t wait to return and highly recommend this cottage to anyone seeking a truly special Irish getaway!

“The cottage is easily accessible and was a good base from which to explore Connemara and Galway.”

It is also a short walk from the ferry to the Aran Islands. We enjoyed our trip there on the best weather day of the week. The cottage proved warm and comfortable on other unseasonably cold and wet days. There was everything we needed, and a well-stocked shop was just up the road. We would definitely recommend.

Very relaxing and peaceful. Very well equipped. Owners left lovely gifts of milk, wine and cake. Loved the cows and sheep! Not for someone looking for a lively area as pub looked quite disappointing.

“We had a lovely stay in Rosssveel.”

Walking distance to the harbour for the Aran Islands.The house was very clean with all essentials. Lovely and quiet but close to all amenities. Hostess was Eileen very nice with a lovely welcome pack. We were entertained every day by the antics of the cows in the fields around the house. We would highly recommend!

“Stayed in this cottage for 3 nights in the first week of June and would stay there again.”

The cottage is as described and pictured on Hogan's website. It was immaculately clean, comfortable, and well equipped for self catering and ideally situated for the Aran Islands - approx. 5 minute walk to the ferry terminal. The view from the kitchen was particularly pleasing as it overlooked a lake to the rear of the property. The bottle of wine, chocolates and carton of milk in the fridge was a very nice touch.
