Our hosts, we're very accommodating and pleasant.

My sister always wanted to stay in a cottage in Ireland and this was a dream come true for her. Cozy and quiet.

From the welcome greeting, to the visit before departure, we couldn't fault Colleen and Raymond for their hospitality.

The cottage was a home from home. Very wellcoming and extremely clean. With a massive garden and peaceful setting it was a shame we had to leave, especially as the weather was drying up!!! Everything was there that you needed, and had a quality feel about it. A short walk down the lane brings you to a very peaceful lakeside setting, and the cottage is only a mile or so outside the village so everything is very convenient. Would we stay here again? You bet we would. It will be top of our list next time in the area.

Lovely stone cottage in a lovely woodland setting.

Everything there that you would need. Modern bathroom with the best shower I've had in a long time. Bathroom cabinet/mirror with strip lighting built in- I'll have one of those when I refurbish ours- great for shaving! Log burner as well as oil fired central heating. Two bedrooms- one with a double and single bed, the other with a single bed. Oughterard is just two kilometres away with all the shops you would need. Handy large carpark on the Southside. Powers thatched bar/restaurant for good food and staff very efficient and friendly. All in all I would recommend Dun na Ron and would definitely come back. Great base for touring around Connemara. Raymond and Colleen are the best hosts- so helpful and friendly. Jim Kelly.

An extraordinary stay with a caring hostess.

The place is quiet but not too isolated. We loved to take our breakfast while watching the birds. Easy private parking just in front of the cottage I highly recommend.

The perfect place to get away from it all.

Our hosts were helpful and provided information on what's on in the area. The cottage was clean and comfortable and surrounded by wildlife which suited us. Thank you to Colleen and Raymond for a lovely holiday.

The owner was very flexibel on our arrival arrangements and expected us at the Cottage even as we arrived with two hours delay.

The Cottage was wonderful and Culleen (the owner) was very helpfull whenever we had wishes or questions. We would warmly recomment this Cottage as very good accommodation for a holiday close to Connemara National Park.

Colleen and Raymond were very welcoming and ensured that we were settled in.

Quite location but the village of Ougtherard was not far away with some nice shops. Fantastic place for our travels around the area. The hosts have done a grand job of fitting a new bathroom with a rain shower, so we probably spend too long showering as a consequence. Due to being out most of the time and still a bit cooler in March, we didn't get to sample the wonderful garden, I'm sure in summer it will be great to sit out of an evening.

We enjoyed the cottage very much.

We felt at home and the cottage is near places to visit.The woods are great to walk in and listen to the birds. We had a good holiday and would like to return to rent your cottage again.

This is our second stay in this really lovely, very special holiday home.

The owners Colleen and Ray are so very hospitable, kind and friendly hosts making you feel truly welcome. It is a perfect retreat for a quiet relaxing holiday or for venturing into the amazing scenery of Galway and Connemara. Cottage is very warm and always lots of hot water. Couldn't have been a better place to stay.

We had a really lovely stay in this cottage .

Set in its own large wooded garden ,it is a haven for wildlife, and very quiet both day and night. A very warm welcome from our hosts Colleen and Raymond with freshly made jam. Very good selection of local maps and guides for walks.

This cottage is like a piece of heaven.

Lots of little woodland walks and ideal for anyone with mobility problems. There is an amazing collection of birds to see, no doubt attracted here by multiple bird feeders. The house is a wonderful cottage with beautiful stone walls and old world features. Colleen and Raymond are the best of hosts and it’s great that they share their cottage with us along with their home made jam and soap. The cottage is ideally located between Moycullen (SuperValu is a fantastic supermarket with a massive choice for everyone) and Oughterard (beautiful piers on the coast of Lough Corrib - boat tours on Wednesdays and Fridays) Go for it since we will again as soon as possible

Cottage well located and peaceful.

Great location, cottage was comfortable and intriguing, lots of hidden gems, we were entertained at breakfast every morning by the many birds feeding at the feeders in the garden, on arrival we were warmly welcomed by Colleen and Raymond, they helped us with our boat trailer , and gave us a delicious homemade brown bread , great holiday

Great location with a magic garden. Very comfortable and warm with everything you would need for a peaceful and restful holiday. I would highly recommend.

This is a most comfortable, always warm, plenty of hot water and clean place to stay.

The owners were really helpful and friendly. The grounds that it stands in are just wonderful. The whole place has an air of peace and comfort. We would stay here again at any time!!!

This is a magical place to stay.

Although the cottage is not sophisticated it has all that you need for a restful and comfortable stay. The owners are across the road and are very welcoming, kind and helpful. We would love to return!

The cottage was exactly as I had hoped. A quaint, quiet, cozy hideaway to return to after sightseeing all day. The gardens are lovely, I enjoyed exploring the grounds and finding little treasure areas at every turn. Thank you again Colleen and Raymond for making our holiday extra special.

A lovely cottage in a glorious location and grounds.

Quite basic but that's reflected in the price and the real fire made it very cosy. Personally we don't want all mod cons and like the owner we'd rather have trees than a fast internet connection. More information on the history of the cottage would have been nice.

Wonderful cottage in Oughterard.

I would wholeheartedly recomend this property for any group up to 4 people. It is perfect for a couple. The only complaint, is the lack of wi-fi connection at the property.

Absolutely beautiful cottage and fantastic location.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and Collen and Raymond were fantastic hosts. The cottage itself had everything we needed and the location was also fantastic, just outside Oughterard where there are shops, restaurants and a great modern playpark for the kids. Also not too far from Galway city and a great base for exploring the wider county as we did. The best part for us though was the significantly sized wooded area in the grounds of the cottage. Our 4 year old daughter absolutely loved exploring this and it quickly became known as the enchanted forest.

The property is situated in a quite and scenic place of Oughterard in county Galway.

Your beauty home away from home. the owners (Colleen and Raymund ) were both very nice and helpful during your stay in their nice cosy cottage. they will inform you all the amenities and the things you can enjoy while staying in Galway. the character and history of the cottage and the ground its situated will give an extra warm and relaxation to everyone who will stay in this property. specially to anyone who want to escape the busy and stressful life of the city. Andrew and I had a fabulous time here.

Feel so relaxed, just like home. Staying in this stone cottage is just so special. The fire place is unique and is a landmark of the house. Colleen and Raymond are excellent hosts, they make us feel part of the local neighbourhood. We cooked every nights as the kitchen facilities are good and plenty of grocery shops & butchers nearby. Just a few reminders to people who want to book Dun na Ron. The gate to the cottage is narrow, so if you have a big car need to pay attention when driving in. This cottage has no wifi provided, the smart phone reception is 3G only, but we still managed. Overall it’s a great place to stay. If you are traveling to the west of Ireland, this should be your choice to stay.

The stay inside the cottage was just super cozy and lovely.

Not to mention just how nice and welcoming our hosts Colleen and Raymond were. Overall our stay in the Dun na Ron Cottage was one of the best vacations we all have ever been on!

June 12th We spent a wonderful week in Dun na Rón, a delightful cottage in an idyllic setting.

This is an ideal location from which to explore Connamara. Oughterard and Moycullen are lovely towns, with supermarkets, takeaways and dining options ( unfortunately outdoor during our stay). Coleen and Raymond are wonderful hosts- welcoming, friendly and attentive. If you are looking for a haven of peace and tranquility, look no further than Dun na Rón. Jo & Paul Taylor Co. Meath

We spent a lovely week in this cottage as our base for touring Connemara.

It was really well equipped with a lovely cosy stove which we used every night. The gardens were beautiful. I think the addition of an electric shower with be good though.

Don na Ron this a little gem in Ireland.

It takes a step back in time and makes you feel so relaxed. The wooded area and gardens are beautiful and little surprises throughout. Colleen and Raymond are lovely and helpful when needed. The area is beautiful and only a 1/2 hour drive to Galway city. If you are looking for a quiet and peaceful break then this is the place I highly recommend Don na Ron.

Dún na Rón is the perfect cottage for a couple to 'get away from it all' and is a perfect base for exploring Lough Corrib and Conemara.

The hosts are extremely helpful and friendly. The cottage is spotless and cosy. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet holiday.

The cottage was in a really beautiful part of Galway.

It was central for touring the area and then a fantastic quiet, secluded, peaceful and tranquil cottage to which to return . Collen, the host, was very nice and helpful. It was a delightful Irish cottage with all the modcons. It is ideal for touring or just relaxing in quiet and solitude.

Fabulous house and hosts just so helpful stunning cottage and gardens.

The area its in is ideal base for anything you want to do around galway. Some lovely pubs and restaurants in the village which is walking distance on a fine day or 3 minutes by car . We will use the cottage again .

Lovely location and really liked the cottage, the owners are exceptionally friendly bringing us fresh eggs from their chickens and the latest area information.

The only down side was the low pressure from the shower and wi-fi for those that like it would be a nice option.

Sweet little cottage, vintage decor, very clean.

Hosts were very friendly - Colleen even bought us over a sponge cake and custard when she had been baking during the week! Pretty well equipped but the kitchen isn't big so don't get too ambitious. Very quiet and private with lovely wooded garden for you to wander in.

We were given a warm friendly welcome from Coleen & Carmel and got great hospitality. Very private, quiet and peaceful. If winding down and relaxing are what you need this is the perfect place. Lovely stone cottage in a great situation.

Perfect for relaxing and enjoying the peace and quiet yet just 2 minutes from Oughterard. Colleen and Raymond the owners are on hand to offer advice and help without being in any way intrusive. We really enjoyed our time there.

What a wonderful place to stay, full of charn and character with all the modern amenities!

Colleen was a wonderful host greeting us on the first day with fresh eggs and homemade marmalade (yum!) She was available when we needed her but we were able to enjoy the seclusion otherwise. My son very much enjoyed the games and toys that were in the cottage and exploring the generous yard. Location was perfect within walking distance from the lake and a 2 minute drive from town. Fantastic vacation!

We had a lovely holiday here,despite the weather (Storm Emma).

The owners could not have been more accommodating. They allowed us to stay an extra night (FOC) due to the weather conditions. They found plenty of things to occupy our two young children whilst we were unable to leave the property. Delicious cake and marmalade left for us on arrival. A perfect, cosy cottage for a lovely Irish getaway. Great base for exploring (when the weather allows).

This small little cottage offered an amazing experience in Ireland.

It was quiet and peaceful. The grounds of the cottage were beautiful as well. Colleen and her family were very nice and attentive to anything we needed.

This was by far our best cottage experience out of four separate weeks on our month long trip to Ireland.

We actually lived in a part of Irish history down to the little details, lovingly preserved and cared for by owner Collen. Quiet, yet easy to get to village and Connemara countryside. We had a delightful week at Dun Na Ron and highly recommend this property.
