Rock Lawn Cottage

Personal preference the beds were too soft - some may love them!

Downstairs shower was excellent. Grounds and drive fab. Be careful of the roads approaching - they are VERY narrow.

Excellent property.

Equipped with everything you could think of. Friendly host and on hand if you needed anything. Would highly recommend.

Rocklawn cottage is outstanding.

It’s an amazing property. The picture doesn’t do it justice. The electric gated entrance & gravel driveway set the scene for what is a cracking place to stay. I’d highly recommend this place. Hosts are very helpful.

This is an absolutely beautiful cottage set in an amazing location perfect for exploring Cork and Kerry.

The cottage is extremely clean and well maintained. The Kitchen is equipped with everything you’d need for a week away, and if anything is missing or needs attention Claire the host is only Happy to help. As hosts Claire and her Husband are extremely helpful (even before the visit) and friendly making you feel at home instantly. Nothing is too much trouble. We had a site admin issue with our booking and Claire was happy to help out. I don’t often want to return to the same cottage liking to experience something different with each holiday, but I’d happily return to Rocklawn. I highly recommend a stay here.

Wonderful location.

Well equipped accommodation with super friendly host

We had a wonderful week.

Everything we could possibly need for 6 adults was available. Great to be able to bring a dog as well. Lots of places to visit and to eat at. Highlights were Mizen Head and Garinish. Road up very narrow, challenging at times

Lovely house, well maintained and everything we needed.

Short drive to Bantry with some lovely areas in this part of the world.

Lovely stay, spotless house.

Much bigger than it looks in the pictures

Warm friendly and helpful.

We would strongly recommend this accommodation. Wish we could have stayed longer. Tony,Sally and Jo

We had a warm friendly welcome from Claire, Rock Lawn Cottage was spotlessly clean and everything you could need was provided, it was spacious, and very comfortable.

A lot of thought had gone into making this a perfect place to stay. We have, over the years stayed in many holiday cottages and Rock Lawn Cottage is right up there at the top and we would recommend it to anyone needing a base to explore the beautiful area of Cork and Kerry

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rock Lawn Cottage ( as did our Springer Spaniel , Roxy).

Beautifully kept cottage inside and out! Claire the owner couldn’t be more helpful and friendly! Ideal location for exploring beautiful West Cork and in to Kerry. We definitely want to return next year

Fantastic property in a fantastic position Cottage had loads of little extras that made our stay easier, will certainly return Loads of space, really good quality throughout

Super house, extremely well kitted out and in the lovely grounds of the main house, with a sweeping view across the valley towards Bantry.

The hosts couldn't have been nicer, lovely to chat to, helpful and genuine. It's a great location for touring stunning West Cork, particularly Sheep's Head and the Beara peninsulas. We (3 adults and a big dog!) had a really fantastic week and would highly recommend Rock Lawn.

Great property in a peaceful location, perfect for dogs.

Claire our host gave us a warm and friendly welcome!

!! Really pet friendly. We loved all the views from the cottage!!

Spacious, comfortable and well equipped.

Set in a beautiful valley with no traffic or any sounds to disturb your sleep.

We have stayed at holiday accommodation booked via Sykes a number of times over the last 10 years.

Whilst all have been appointed to a consistently high standard, the property owner on this occasion was the most welcoming host; offering useful suggestions and making sure we had worked out how to use everything without being intrusive. The cottage was exactly as described and immaculate.(Just as an aside, we did wonder if the bed in the smaller double room was getting a bit worn. We found it very soft but realise we are possibly a bit larger than average- just something to keep an eye on)

A delightful and well equipped house - very comfortable Our hosts were very welcoming, and made it very clear that were there anything we needed, we only had to ask.

The location is great, very quiet, lovely countryside all around, and easy access to some great places in the West Cork area. I should add that wherever we went we encountered the same friendly welcome that we had from the house owners. It is a great place for a holiday, and we really enjoyed it.

Lovely property in a beautiful quiet location , very welcoming hosts.

The Bantry Bay is stunning and the house is well placed for touring the area

The cottage was home from home and with Claires and Eugenes warm welcome made our stay in Ireland perfect.

Absolutely perfect holiday stay!

The house is immaculate with everything you could possibly need for a home from home holiday. Perfect for the dog too with lots of outdoor space. Claire is a great host. Friendly welcoming and informative and always on hand if you anything. The area is simply beautiful and we were also blessed with good weather! There is so much to see and do we could have stayed a lot longer than a week. Would recommend to anyone and would love to return in the future.

Lovely cottage in beautiful countryside.

Owner friendly and helpful.

Very good property.

Modern, well equipped, clean, peaceful and spacious house. Located well to explore West Cork and Kerry with Bantry located within 10 mins drive for supply's or a meal if staying local. Weather got chilly in November but heating worked well and the house remained cosy. Stayed with a young family and it worked out great. The host Claire was very nice and friendly and always on hand for advice if required. Happy to recommend this house and I'm sure we'll return.

This was a fantastic place to stay.

The host Claire was very hospitable. The property had everything we needed. Lovely and quiet , close to Gantry excellent to visit the penninsulas. We would highly recommend staying here if down in cork

We had a fabulous stay at Rocklawn cottage.

It was the perfect base for exploring the stunning West Cork landscapes. The house is exquisite and equipped with absolutely everything you could need. We were so comfortable there. Claire has thought of everything and is full of brilliant suggestions about places to visit and where to eat. She never led us wrong. Our stay was perfect. 5 stars.

We toughly enjoyed our stay in Rock Lawn cottage and our holiday in the Bantry / West Cork area.

We received a very warm welcome on arrival, despite arriving very late, after midnight, due to being caught-up in the tail end of a storm! The cottage is spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. It is in the country-side so very quite, just the distance noise of sheep and horses. However it is only around 12 minutes to the centre of Bantry, with its supermarkets, restaurants, pubs and lots of independent shops. There are lots of thinks to explore in the area both by land and sea and a week was nothing like enough time. We will be back.

Amazing place, very accessible to Bantry and all the spectacular peninsulas.

Wanted for nothing whilst we were there, immaculately clean, spacious and well equipped. Would love to return and have recommend to others already! Thanks again Claire.

Place was clean, well kept, and had an absolutely gorgeous view right outside the front door.

Hosts were extremely kind and accommodating. They explained everything that we needed to know as soon as we arrived very well, made great recommendations for things in the area, and just amazing people overall. Strongly recommend and wished we didn't have to leave. Can't thank them enough for everything and loved it all.

Rocklawn Cottage is an extremely well appointed holiday cottage in a most picturesque, rural, tranquil location.

In addition to the many “tourist destinations”, the immediate area around the cottage is well worth exploration. The area is ideal for those who enjoy quiet walks along the flower-bedecked lanes. Our host, Claire, was most welcoming and informative about the local area. She has anticipated everything her guests might need in the house. We had a wonderful holiday in Kealkill and will definitely return.

Rocklawn Cottage is a fantastic base to discover West Cork from.

Claire is a fantastic host and very helpful with recommendations and places to go. Cottage is stunning, has everything you need, immaculately clean and in a stunning location.

This was our first trip to Ireland, and nothing but amazing!

Thank you Claire for your warm and friendly welcome. Your recommendations for places to visit and local restaurants are spot on and greatly appreciated. Your cottage is beautiful, spacious and airy, super clean, with all the amenities and more that you may need to make your stay comfortable. The views are beautiful and it is so peaceful, just what we needed. We would definitely recommend Rock Lawn Cottage to our friends and family.  Ps: the website photos does not do your cottage  justice.

Beautiful comfy homely cottage brilliant scenery and Clair was wonderful kind pleasent nothing too much trouble thanks Claire Joyce x

We had a brilliant stay at Rocklawn cottage.

It’s such a beautiful, peaceful location and is so well equipped. Claire, the owner, was a pleasure to deal with and was so friendly and helpful. We would recommend this cottage to anyone, such a lovely place to get away from it all. Jennifer & Stephen

Superb This was a late booking to visit family in the local area.

The pictures do not do this lovely cottage justice. There are three large bedrooms (very comfy) and a fantastic bathroom upstairs, loads of hanging and storage areas in the rooms and in the under eaves areas. The open plan kitchen/diner and lounge is both large and comfortable. The kitchen includes everything you will need, modern, loads of worktop for the keen chefs out there, large fridge and completely separate freezer. Separate utility area houses the washing machine and leads to a very large second bathroom with walk in shower/wet room and toilet. Outside there is plenty of space for chilling out with rattan style furniture and benches and a large covered area at the rear of the cottage for washing (i left my bike under there). Wifi was good speed which was a bonus as I had to work remotely whilst there. To enter the property there is an electronic gate and gravel drive which all felt grand. We spent a week here and Claire was available to help with any queries but otherwise left us to do our own thing. I can honestly say that we would go back tomorrow if we could, great location for exploring the area, close to Bantry for shops, petrol etc. You will not be disappointed

Rock Lawn cottage is an awesome place to stay with eveything you need.

It is quiet and beautiful to just relax at the cottage but there is loads to see nearby and Bantry is a decent town. Beautiful beaches, cafes and restaurants are plentiful. Claire the owner made us feel really at home and is lovely to talk to providing lots of advice and knowledge of the area. We didn't want to leave and hope to visit again.

Hostess was very friendly and incredibly helpful.

We had a wonderful time - the beauty and peace are extraordinary.

Great, spotless place.

The house has everything we needed during our stay, the hosts are very helpful and friendly. Couldn't ask for more for a stress-free holiday and looking forward to going back next year.

Beautiful house set in a magnificant setting and Claire was just so pleasant and helpful.

Total relaxation and enjoyment

We loved our stay at Rocklawn, a very well equipped home that was way roomier than the photos could convey.

. Surrounded by lovely countryside.. Claire was a super friendly and relaxed person to deal with. We loved that our dog had the freedom to run around the spacious garden.. We as a family group of 7 people would highly recommend this cottage.. A great base to explore West Cork..

Claire and her family gave us a warm welcome and went above and beyond throughout our stay.

The cottage is amazing, spacious, clean and with a fantasticly beautiful view! Location is great, very close to Bantry and Glengarriff. Couldn't want for anything more!

Rocklawn Cottage is exceptionally bright, modern and comfortable and generously stocked and Claire is an excellent host, very friendly and helpful.

The cottage is situated in a very peaceful area and is a great base from which to travel around ,plenty to see and do. We had a fantastic week and highly recommend the place.

The cottage was amazing!

Claire was wonderful, she told us places to go, sent us picture to show us how beautiful it was. Everything was perfectly clean and equipped. We had a problem with the hot water and Eugene fixed it immediately. I would go back and I recommend it 100%.

We had a lovely week at Rock Lawn Cottage in August 2020.

This place was fantastic and exceeded our expectations. It is situated in a lovely quiet location, spotlessly clean and equipped with everything you could need for a week away with the kids. If you want to eat in, there is a good choice of supermarkets, bakery's within the town. But there are plenty of good restaurants and takeaways to choose from too. We were blessed with amazing weather, however there is lots to do even if the weather is good or bad. Bantry is perfectly situated for exploring further on down the peninsula's with Barley cove, Mizen head, ring of Kerry and Dingle approximatly 1-1.5 hours drive either way. The drive passes by so quickly as there is so much beautiful scenery to take in. There is lots of areas to explore, national parks, pony trekking, kayaking and boat trips to name a few. Even with Covid restrictions, there was still plenty of safe places to go. We would definitely come back here again.

From the moment we arrived to the time we left we were overwhelmed by the welcome we received from Claire and her family.

The house was just perfect and had every imaginable amenity. From little things like dishwasher tablets, tin foil and tea bags to blocks and coal for the stove, there was nothing that wasn’t thought of for visitors. We absolutely loved our time in Rock Lawn Cottage and will definitely return!

Great house, spacious and clean.

We loved it. You will need a car. There is lots to see and do in the local area. Claire the host is very friendly and helpful. Perfect for a family with 3 or 4 children.

Rock Lawn Cottage was perfect.

In a beautiful spot, lovely owners and with absolutely everything you could ever need supplied. The cottage was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Would definitely recommend it.

We really enjoyed our stay at Rock Lawn Cottage.

The house was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The host Claire was extremely friendly and helpful and could not have been nicer. We will definately recommend Rock Lawn Cottage for anyone heading to West Cork/Bantry area.

We had a wonderful stay at Rocklawn cottages.

Couldn't fault it in any way. Would higjly recommend it to anyone. A beautiful cottage in a beautiful part of Ireland

Lovely area, very quiet and peaceful.

Owners very friendly and helped if we needed anything. Not far from a few lovely wee towns and the amazing peninsulas of Cork. House very clean and had everything we needed. Go raibh maith agaibh to the hosts.

We were most impressed by the commitment to our comfort and enjoyment at Sykes Cottage.

The cottage was bigger than we expected, spotlessly clean, with very comfortable furniture, beds, bedlinen. Everything they could think of for us was included and there was such a warm welcome. We appreciated the pack with details of local areas of interest for visits, hikes, meals and information on local doctors, dentists etc should the need arise. We have rented holiday homes both in Ireland and abroad for many years and this was the best experience we have had to date. Guests know when their hosts have their best interests at heart and when this is sensed, it adds to the enjoyment of the stay. Having the proprietor on site was great. We had a friendly neighbour, who did not intrude on our privacy, but was eager to help us with directions and local information whenever needed. Honestly couldn't recommend this cottage/ spacious house more! We will definitely be back.

The house was terrific, with the owners being really friendly and helpful.

The house had everything you could possibly want and in a beautiful location. We will definitely visit again.
