Dirty windows , dirty oven and toaster , unhoovered floor mats , filthy curtains on patio doors , which we were informed by email enroute [ by owner ]that were not to be opened due to some problem or other , dirty fabric on kitchen chairs , dirty cooker extractor . Were told by cleaner / caretaker that hoover was broken . Small freezer had about 4 inches of frost . Water leaked in through kitchen ceiling on 2 occasions ie Wedn and Fri [ at this point we decided to leave and head for home ...

No smoke alarm upstairs , I could go on and on and on . Many of the above issues have been mentioned in reviews as far back as 2019 . We were not looking for luxury or grandeur , but my God basic cleanliness is to be expected . This is the 1st time we feel totally let down and offended to be presented with such a premises , which had obviously not been cleaned for quite some time despite the owner stating that he and his sons had been there some days previous . The caretaker arrived on Sun morning with half dz eggs by way of compensation accompanied by her 2 young children [ by the way was a lovely friendly person ] I await a response from whoever .
