Facilities and Maintenance

Its a great cottage to get away from the world and relax completely.

We have been there several times and always look forward to returning. A very unique kind of place.

The cottage is lovely but we were left with a dangerously faulty and unusable cooker and no way to cook for 11 of our 12 days.

The owner has completely ignored any requests to address this and support our continued stay, despite assurances and reassurance from Sykes that they would. Left us very dissapointed and let down. Happy to take the money and run. If you intend to book this cottage and intend to cook, make sure this has been rectified first before you book. This could all have been avoided.

Owner response:

We have been hosting and delighting guests for over 21 years. We maintain our Heritage Cooker semi annually and right before these guests arrived, we had it serviced and every thing was in great working order. The day this happened our staff informed me right away and contacted our service tech who came the next day. It was not a dangerous situation. Although parts had to be ordered, our tech was able to keep one top burner and the oven working. Our service tech also gave the guests his number in case there were any questions or concerns. All of the parts arrived and were installed. The Heritage range has been working at 100% since. We are very surprised that their review is what it is. They were able to use the oven except for one burner. We were constantly updating them and checking in on them. Our goal is always to take care of our guests. Cottage Mary Rose has pleased many guests over our past 21 years and we hope to have you as our guests. Kind Regards, William Harty,

Very lovely Thatched Cottage.

Peaceful gardens - very relaxing stay. Thanks!
