Description
Kealkill 3.6 miles.
The Stall at Valley View House is a bright and welcoming one-storey retreat, tucked away in the heart of the scenic Mealagh Valley, in the peaceful townland of Dromsullivan—just a 10-minute drive northeast of Bantry, West Cork. With its south-facing aspect, the property enjoys uninterrupted views across the valley, making it an ideal escape for couples or solo travellers seeking tranquillity, nature, and easy access to town.
Lovingly remodelled by the owner—who grew up in the adjacent farmhouse—The Stall retains its original stonework, blending rustic charm with modern comfort. Inside, the open-plan layout includes a well-equipped kitchen, a relaxed dining area, and a comfortable seating space with a Smart TV and electric stove, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. The sleeping area is thoughtfully arranged, and the en-suite bathroom adds a touch of convenience and privacy.
Step outside to the covered patio and take in the fresh country air with a morning coffee or evening drink, accompanied by birdsong and the gentle rustle of leaves. It’s a peaceful spot to pause, reflect, and soak up the beauty of the surrounding landscape.
The Mealagh Valley is one of West Cork’s hidden treasures—rich in history, wildlife, and natural beauty. From ancient standing stones and stone circles to the meandering Mealagh River, the valley offers a wealth of walking routes, unmarked trails, and panoramic views across Bantry Bay. Wildlife enthusiasts may spot foxes, badgers, herons, and even otters along the way.
Nearby Bantry is a lively harbour town full of character, with excellent restaurants, a bustling Friday market, and a vibrant cultural scene. From Bantry House & Gardens to kayaking, whale-watching, and live music in traditional pubs, there’s plenty to enjoy. The town also hosts renowned festivals such as the West Cork Chamber Music Festival and Masters of Tradition.
The Stall is also perfectly placed for day trips to Whiddy Island, the Sheep’s Head and Beara Peninsulas, Mizen Head, and Glengarriff with its boat trips to Garnish Island. Whether you're after dramatic coastal walks, mountain drives, or a quiet pint in a tucked-away pub, the area offers something for every pace.
The Stall at Valley View House is a peaceful and characterful base for couples or solo travellers looking to experience the best of County Cork.

What guests are saying
The Stall is an excellent property, ideal for two people.
It is in a peaceful countryside setting and yet not far from the amenities of Bantry and with easy access to the many places of interest in the surrounding area. The accommodation is well-equipped and spotlessly clean. Caroline is an excellent host, ensuring guests are fully informed before arrival and checking to make sure they have everything to make their stay as comfortable as possible.
Lovely comfortable accommodation which was spotlessly clean.
The host was very helpful and friendly and was readily accessible. Beautiful views from the property.
We spent an amazing week at The Stall.
The lay out of the accommodation was fabulous, we couldn't have asked for more. The setting in the middle of a valley in West Cork, was beautiful, peaceful with beautiful views. Caroline our host, was so helpful and friendly, giving us tips of places to visit with our dog. We would highly recommend The Stall!
