    “Due to unforseen circumstances, we didn't actually stay at Wild Atlantic Way Country Cottage, but Marie, who kept us fully informed throughout, went out of her way to accommodate us in the Air BnB next door.”

    Judging by the high standards there, I have no doubt that the accommodation at Wild Atlantic Way Country Cottage is as clean, tidy, well maintained and adequately stocked and just as delightful as Skelligs View! The cottage is well situated to visit the surrounding area (Valencia Island is glorious) being situated on the Skelligs Ring and only a short distance from, and at the much prettier part of, the Ring of Kerry. Killarney and Dingle are a little further afield, but still within easy ...

The cottage is well situated to visit the surrounding area (Valencia Island is glorious) being situated on the Skelligs Ring and only a short distance from, and at the much prettier part of, the Ring of Kerry. Killarney and Dingle are a little further afield, but still within easy driving distance. Portmagee is a pretty village with ample pubs and eateries, a well stocked shop and boat trips to The Skelligs. And of course, you get complimentary tickets to the Kerry Cliffs, which are as spectacular as they say!! Would definitely recommend a stay here.

Drive across the bridge to Valentia Island, one of Ireland's many offshore islands, and enjoy a spot of birdwatching.

PORTMAGEE, COUNTY KERRY

Portmagee is a small fishing village situated on the south western most tip of the Iveragh Peninsula in County Kerry, Ireland. Known as the gateway to Valentia Island, Portmagee is also located on the Skellig Ring, an offshoot of the stunning Ring of Kerry, which is home to the amazing Skellig Rock. Portmagee offers pubs, restaurants and Irish dancing, which takes place twice a week all year round. The famous Skellig Island Boat Trips are only 2 minutes from the village, while the area also offers great walking on the Kerry Way, magnificent scenery, great cycling routes, diving, angling, horse riding, Heritage Centres including The Skellig Experience, and some of the best sandy beaches in the country. The town of Cahersiveen is 10 miles away, boasting an excellent harbour and marina offering sailing, trout and salmon fishing and deep-sea angling opportunities. Cahersiveen also offers traditional pubs, cafés, restaurants, interesting craft and antique shops, and monthly street fairs selling curiosities and local produce.
