The old adage if you have nothing nice to say say nothing.
However, it was nice - the location, the building, the facilities, the views and the ambiance. But, the drains stank and house was stale, had to have windows open for some time and repeatedly flush kitchen drain; the bins outside were full and maggots were crawling over the garbage bags; there was no information folder with basic property or location information such as emergency contacts, facilities or basic information such as bin day, no information on the heating system or hot water - although not too hard to figure out; nowhere in the bedrooms to hang clothes - no wardrobes, no chairs only a solitary hook on the back of the bedroom doors; lastly the property could sleep 8 but only had 5 chairs in the kitchen and seating for 5 in the sitting room - why? why!
5/5 Stars Just back from a brilliant week in Portmagee and couldn't highly recommend this place enough.
We vacation in Ireland every year and this was honestly one of the cleanest and nicest spots we’ve stayed in. It's baby and dog-friendly too, which was great for us. The location is unbeatable, right by the pier which was perfect for our trip out to Skellig Michael, and in the town for the bars, restaurants and shops but was nice and quite during the nights in the accommodation. Will miss waking up to the views every morning! Mary was a great host and we had a lovely stay from start to finish. We'll definitely be back!
Loved it.
Set in the middle of beautiful Portmagee village. Few doors down from shop,bars and restaurants. House itself is well insulated, didn't need to light the fire, plenty of space throughout. Enjoy
