The property

Set on the outskirts of Ballinskelligs, a bustling town in County Kerry, lies this generously-sized cottage, Forest View.

Enveloped by woodlands and the Irish hills, the cottage is perfect for a family break, accommodating seven guests and two well-behaved dogs.

Driving down the private lane and towards Forest View, take in the peaceful and still surroundings, whilst making use of the ample off-road parking.

Mesmerised by the grandeur of its exterior, venture into the cottage, where you'll be welcomed by the traditionally styled kitchen/diner, offering plenty of space to socialise, have brunch or prepare an evening meal for all the family.

Heading through to the formal dining room, escape for some peace and quiet from the heart of the home; a fitting space to read one of many books on offer.

The ideal environment for the whole family to gather, discover the inviting sitting room, with a Smart TV, charming features, and a characterful open fire, perfect to light in the colder months; the living space is complete with a storage room to store additional equipment or fuel.

Venturing upstairs to four spacious bedrooms, make yourself at home as the evening unfolds, where you can unpack your belongings and refresh in one of two bathrooms; you'll have two doubles, a twin and a single to select from, along with a main bathroom and ground-floor shower room.

Stepping outside, appreciate the remote location of Forest View, offering a private garden to enjoy as a family, fitting for alfresco dining or some outdoor fun.

Whilst set in the countryside, you'll also find several landmarks, attractions, and eateries to visit within Ballinskelligs, including The Atlantic Grill and Cable O'Leary's Pub and Restaurant.

For the chance to explore County Kerry, head to Ballinskelligs Beach or Reenroe Beach, two glorious blue flag beaches both a five minute drive from the house, hike to Geokaun Mountain and Cliffs, or tour the 16th-century remains of Ballinskelligs Castle.

Located on the magnificent Skellig Ring between Waterville and Valentia Island, on the forthcoming Wild Atlantic Way, with wild rugged coastlines, scattered islands, vast mountains and high passes, the seaside area of Ballinskelligs sits on the attractive Ballinskelligs Bay and is an Irish-speaking area with a unique history and culture. Once the land base for the monks of Skellig Michael, the surrounding area has numerous prehistoric and early Christian ruins along its shores. The area is renowned for its miles of golden beaches and turquoise waters and offers excellent swimming and watersports on the Blue Flag beach, along with boat trips to the Skelligs, walking in the Ballinskellig/Bolus Head Loop and cycling.
