Nestling in a small bay along the shores of Lough Conn with spectacular views, this cosy cottage offers couples, families, and groups of friends the ideal retreat to explore this beautiful location.

With a choice of three bedrooms, two doubles and one single, plus a comfortable kitchen/dining room and sitting room, both overlooking the lake, this is a cosy cottage to relax and plan the following days endeavours.

The area is dotted with lakeshore drives and walks, and sheltered inlets to explore.

The lakes attract many anglers to its rich trout waters and boats may be hired locally.

Foxford town is a short drive away.

Spend some time in Foxford Woollen Mills, a haven for locally produced knitwear and relax in the adjoining café and tea rooms.

The mighty River Moy flows through the town on its way to the Atlantic ocean at Ballina.

Travel north to The Ceide Fields, a unique Neolithic landscape with towering sea cliffs and arrive at Downpatrick Head with its majestic sea stacks.

Walk the beautiful golden sands at Enniscrone beach.

Visit The Museum of Country Life near Castlebar and experience the trials and tribulations of past generations.

PONTOON, COUNTY MAYO

Foxford 5 miles.

Well famed for its beautiful lakes and forestry, Pontoon is a widely popular angling destination attracting fishermen from all corners of the globe. Lough Conn and Lough Cullen are two of Pontoon’s famous limestone lakes, separated by a peninsula at Pontoon and overflowing out into the Moy River. Only a short drive from the charming town of Foxford, Pontoon maintains a great reputation as a fantastic base for touring the county of Mayo, and it also only an hour’s drive away from the well-known cities of Sligo and Galway. Following the Foxford Way is also a great way to see the region, where you can stretch your legs on the 86km walking route, part of which passes through Pontoon. Golfers will also appreciate this lovely village as it is only a short drive away from some of the top golf courses in the west such as Castlebar and Enniscrone.
