Well famed for its beautiful lakes and forestry, Pontoon is a widely popular angling destination attracting fishermen from all corners of the globe. Lough Conn and Lough Cullen are two of Pontoon’s famous limestone lakes, separated by a peninsula at Pontoon and overflowing out into the Moy River. Only a short drive from the charming town of Foxford, Pontoon maintains a great reputation as a fantastic base for touring the county of Mayo, and it also only an hour’s drive away from the well-known cities of Sligo and Galway. Following the Foxford Way is also a great way to see the region, where you can stretch your legs on the 86km walking route, part of which passes through Pontoon.
