Castle Demesne House

A beautifully equipped cottage with amazing views.

We had a fabulous stay.

Another great holiday at Castle Demesne House.

A perfect base from which to sample the marvellous scenery and atmosphere of Connemara. Spotlessly clean with fantastic views and a wonderfully helpful hostess in Josephine. Johnny P.

Luckily I queried your directions with the owner and she offered to meet me in Aldi car park and lead me to the house.

The view you have on your site is not visible from the road and the entrance is very narrow and steep. I loved the cottage once I got there and got used to the entrance.

I'd recommend going here without a doubt.

On arriving at Castle Demense House the first word was WOW the view over the sea is fantastic and fresh sea air. The house inside has everything you need and the owner is at the end of the phone if you have any problems or questions. We were really lucky and had nice bright weather most of the time and there were plenty of walks and attractions in the area to keep us busy, and the patio with the sea view to sit with a coffee if we just wanted to relax. The town has lots of places to eat and drink with some having traditional irish music. The house is on a steep hill from town, the walk down is easy but coming back you can get a taxi if you're not fit enough to walk back up the hill, the owner gave us taxi numbers. We even got to see a show of the connemara ponies at the showground.

We had a wonderful week at Castle Demesne House.

We were greeted by our host nearby, she lead us to the property which gave us outstanding views as soon as we turned into the drive way. There is plenty of space to park (we tucked our car around the back of the property so it wasn't in our view - we wanted to make the most of every bit of that amazing all around view!!!). Our host gave us a very warm welcome and was able to offer advice on local attractions etc. We were able to relax into our holiday straight away and felt so lucky to be in such idyllic surroundings. We had everything we needed in the property and were very comfortable throughout. The driving from this property is easy and pleasurable to get to anywhere you want to visit in Connemara and the surrounding areas. Always a pleasure to return to the property at the end of the day and make use of the cushioned patio furniture with a glass of wine in hand and yet more chances to enjoy that view!

Over the last 20 years my wife and I have frequently holidayed in the Clifden area.

This year we stayed at Castle Demesne House for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Josephine was a welcoming and considerate owner and the interior of the property was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The view of the coastline from the verandah at the front of the house was superb and we spent many delightful hours out there in perfect contentment.
