I wouldn't be going to stay here again.

We stayed here 3 yrs ago, and no update has been done on the house. The bath is leaking, shower in the unsuite bathroom was broken, head keep falling off. Shower was filthy when we arrived. The TV in the sitting room was acting up, we contacted the cleaner. She said a new 1 would be replaced on Monday. Monday no show no problem as we were out anyway. On Tuesday we travelled for the day, when we had gotten back the owners/cleaner had entered the house without telling us and dropped a new TV in the hall. This is no acceptable.. radiators in the sitting room not working. This house needs alot of bring up to standard. For the prices they are charging.. we won't be retuning..

The property was absolutely filthy when we arrived.

Bedroom - bedding with hair in it and stained. Bathroom - dirty toilets and shower Kitchen - everything was dirty, worktops, sink, cooker (food stuck to it) fridge also had food stuck to the inside, feeezer and fridge still had the previous people food! Bin bag in garden with rubbish spilt out. A had to clean the house before we could even unpack! I called the number and Karen who was very apologetic and came the next day with some bedding and cleaned the cooker, removed the rubbish from the garden. The house in general is in desperate need of a proper clean and maintenance. The mattress’s pillows and duvets are awful, holes in the walls - to be honest the list is way too long for here…. Very disappointing as this was a special occasion for my mother 80th Birthday. We love Achill it’s our family’s special place and the location of the house is perfect, but until the issues with this property are resolved I would not recommend booking it.

The cottage is a great size, in a lovely location, and we really enjoyed exploring Co.

Mayo. There were, however, a few issues that we commented on at the time, that we felt we needed to bring to your attention. - the front door lock sticks, and we struggled to gain access to the property (not a great way to welcome guests), and for the rest of our stay, used the kitchen door - there was no starter pack for the open fire, in spite of the description on your website stating that would be included - the hot water was tepid at best, even when we turned on the booster switch on the boiler. We were therefore unable to have baths, and needed to boil the kettle in order to wash up. - the toilet in the main bathroom did not flush - the blue bin at the gate was full when we arrived, and was not emptied during our stay, so we therefore had to leave our bag of rubbish by the kitchen door - we found food in the freezer, (which was dirty inside) that had left by previous guests We hope that these issues can be speedily rectified for the comfort of future guests, as with some updating this currently tired cottage would be much improved.
