    “I don't usually leave reviews, but on sound cottage it just had to be done.”

    .. don't let the short track put you off, it was fine, just take your time, what's at the end will be well worth it... what a gem of a place. A spotless and comfortable cottage, a very warm, welcoming and relaxing place to rest and relax. thank you for the extras that was left for us on arrival, very thoughtful. slept well, even had electric blankets, nice touch, plenty of hot water, a very well equipped cottage, we wanted for nothing... would highly recommend, The two donkeys were ...

The accommodation at this Achill Island cottage sits entirely across the ground floor, with one internal step between the kitchen and hall, offering three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen with a dining area and a comfortable sitting room benefiting from the warmth of a lovely multi-fuel stove.

Wonderful views across the sea can be enjoyed from the garden, so you can have an alfresco meal before wandering down to the shore.

Achill Sound sits on Achill Island, enclosed by sweeping countryside and offering a stunning, unspoilt horseshoe bay, complete with a beautiful Blue Flag beach.

Four other fine Blue Flag beaches can be found on the island, so you are never too far from a wonderful haven, perfect for swimming, sunbathing or a moonlit wander with your loved one.

When you are ready for an adventure you can enjoy the many attractions available including watersports, fishing, mountain trekking and horse riding.

Plus Achill Golf Club is only a short drive away, offering wonderful scenery on one of Ireland's most Westerly courses.

At 57 square miles, Achill is the largest island of Ireland, and lies off the west coast, in County Mayo. The island is linked to the mainland by the Michael Davitt Bridge, making it easily accessible. Boasting five Blue Flag beaches, Achill has some of the most beautiful, secluded, remote beaches in Ireland, but watersports are always easy to find. Try surfing, windsurfing, canoeing or kayaking on one of the beautiful beaches, enjoy a horse ride along the coast, or simply take a stroll through the sand. With its beautiful mountainous landscape, Achill Island provides great walking, and the Atlantic Drive, 40km of coastal scenery, is perfect for cars and bicycles alike.
