On warmer days, why not savour your meal alfresco out on the large terrace with a backdrop of sea views, followed by a walk along the blue flag beach?
After dinner, retire to the plush seating in the sitting area with a glass of wine in hand and select a much-loved film on the TV as the evening’s entertainment.
Completing the ground floor is a lovely double bedroom with en-suite shower room, ideal for those with limited mobility.
Head upstairs, where you can wash away the day in the well-appointed shower room, before discovering two further double bedrooms with sea views.
Explore the village, where you will be spoilt for choice with the good selection of eateries on offer, including light bites and sweet treats at Wild Rose Café, traditional Irish dishes at Roches Bar and Restaurant, fresh seafood at The Strand Tavern, and stock up on essentials at the petrol station housing a convenience store.
Be sure to check out the award-winning restaurant of Aldridge Lodge which is just moment’s outside of the village.
Continue onto Hook Head, where you can visit Hook Lighthouse, enjoy leisurely strolls along Slade Harbour, or explore the waters depths with Hook Sub Aqua Club.
Further afield, you’ll find Waterford, home to Waterford Treasures Medieval Museum, a magnificent cathedral, an excellent golf club, and two Michelin Star restaurants, Everett’s and The Old Couch House Café.

Perfect place to enjoy the beach from, down spiral metal staircase from the property or further along the road to steps or slope.
Amazing view from windows. 2 large bedrooms on the second floor with a small double up 6 steps from living area onto the first floor. No toilet downstairs. Duncannon a fantastic place to stay and we enjoyed eating at the pubs, restaurants and bakery and lots to see and do in the area. Local shop was closed when we arrived so a welcome pack of milk and tea at the property would have been a nice touch. A great place for us, 4 adults and a dog.
Beautiful house, clean and very comfortable.
Loved just watching the sea. There seemed to be lots to do in the area, most of which we have saved for a visit without the stunning weather we had this time. Really helpful owners, thank you for all your help. Also shout out to The Strand bar & restaurant for fab food and service.
Fantastic position overlooking the beach.
Good restaurants and a fantastic newly opened bakery nearby. Car parking outside - it was on the road but that wasn’t a problem. Duncannon is a lovely small town with most facilities within walking distance. Very welcoming hosts.
