Christmas Traditions in Ireland

Midnight Mass and religious services on Christmas Day are extremely well attended and visitors are truly welcome. And if your Christmas holiday rental is near the coast, look out for a Christmas swim when locals brave icy temperatures and dash into the sea. On St. Stephen's Day (Boxing Day), meanwhile, why not have a flutter at the races or watch a football match? Both highly popular pastimes on the Emerald Isle.
