The nearby hamlet of Maudabawn is set on the Maudabawn River and provides nightly entertainment at the pub and has a well-stocked village shop.

Less than five miles away is the nearest village, Cootehill, home to shops, pubs and restaurants.

This part of Ireland is an angler’s paradise and hosts a number of lakes and rivers for you to fish including Killyrue Lough, Lough Tacker and Lough Sillian.

You can put your walking boots on and venture out on one of the many walks nearby, take the bike out, or go for a leisurely drive to discover the nearby scenery.

A little further afield you can discover The Cavan Burren Park, Cavan Canoe Centre or Killinkere Pet Farm.
