“We arrived at the cottage between 6+7 pm we met the owner Joe Morrisey and he showed us around and explained what we needed to know.”

First thing to greet us was the musty smell in the property and it was very old fashioned as we went around the property sorting who went where as there were 6 of us one in particular my son who suffers with a serious respiratory condition we had to get in and clean down surfaces door handles we were all to touch not a good start then we realised we were sharing the property with any number of creepy crawlies when we opened windows some of the handle pieces fell off. The property definitely did not meet our expectations there was only one good thing we could say about the property and that is its location ideal for the touring around Clare we planned to do. We took photos to show how bad the house was i can forward them on privately. We definitely would not recommend this property unless it underwent some work and major cleaning. We feel some of this falls on your company to check these properties during a season for cleanliness it is the worse property we stayed in.

About the location

QUILTY, COUNTY CLARE

Miltown Malbay 3.6 miles; Spanish Point 2.8 miles; Lahinch 11 miles.

Quilty is an attractive seaside resort with local charm, providing a seafood restaurant, a pub, a supermarket and sea fishing. The nearby pretty town of Miltown Malbay is located close to the Atlantic coast in County Clare, and is only an hour from Shannon Airport. Famed for its traditional Irish music, it is home to the Willie Clancy music festival, which is held in July, however visitors will find fabulous live music in many pubs and bars whatever the time of year. Miltown Malbay is close to some excellent beach resorts including Spanish Point and Doonbeg, both of which are well worth a visit for their relaxed vibe and great surf. The Burren National Park to the north of the town is a mecca for walkers and nature lovers with its unique geological landscapes and rich colourful wildflowers, and to the south you will find the striking 'Cliffs of Moher', which rise majestically out of the ocean and are best appreciated from one of many boat trips departing nearby.
