“Having booked a weeks stay in Coolnaharragill Lower Annexe in July 2022 I would certainly not recommend this property to other potential guests.”

The advertising particulars are very misleading, and do not reflect the actual features of the property. This is a two double bedroom bungalow therefore potentially suitable for 4 people, which is situated directly behind another three bedroom bungalow, and both are on a very busy main road. You would not expect this from the advertising photograph. The property is not in walking distance to any amenities, except that there is a small shop on the opposite side of the road selling basics. The property is described as having patio doors leading to the patio area. There are no patio doors and the so-called patio area is a slab of concrete at the side of the property housing an integral wooden table and benches. The outlook from the patio is the main road to the front and an unsightly, overgrown grassy bank at the rear. The only access and egress to and from the property is via the front door which leads into the tiny open plan living space, and the kitchen. I would say that the property may not comply with fire safety regulations as there is only one door to the property. The photographs show there to be a glass topped coffee table in the living area which wasn't there. There is only one comfortable small settee, the rest of the seating being high chairs around the breakfast bar, one of which was broken and taken away by the owner. Having a 92 yer old parent with us we had to purchase a more comfortable chair for her to sit on. There is a TV on the wall but there is no aerial going to it so therefore no TV programmes are accessible. The owner advised us that we would have to purchase a Netflix subscription if we wanted to watch television. We had taken our own DVDs but there is no DVD player in the property. The selection of books and games as advertised is non-existent. The property is undoubtedly clean but rather bland. The toaster did not work and the owner took it away but did not replace it while we were staying there. The first morning we thought that the shower in the main bedroom was not working. We reported this to the owner who asked her plumber/electrician to check the showers. She reported back that due to the way the showers had been fitted it was not possible to use both showers simultaneously. The shower room floors soon become very wet and slippery and whilst the owner came and provided some extra mats these soon became sodden and there is nowhere in the property to dry them. Do not expect any sort of welcome pack when you arrive at the property. There was not even a tea bag or a cup of milk. There was one washing pod in a screw top glass jar in a cupboard. There was no kitchen roll, cling film, or foil in the kitchen, and just a half bottle of washing up liquid and a dishcloth. We were asked to only switch on the water in the kitchen when we needed it and there were yellow post it notes on switches reminding us to switch them off. The electric socket in the main bedroom and outside the second bedroom were loose. The door to the main bedroom is hard to shut as it sticks. The curtains in the main bedroom cannot be properly closed due to the voile netting being fitted on the same curtain pole and bunching in the middle. The owner told us that she did not expect us to use the washing machine or television as we were on holiday and so we were not there to wash clothes or sit around watching TV. We did not feel that we received a very hospitable welcome from the owner or that this was a very comfortable or welcoming property. It is very bland and basic and not good value for money and it is certainly not what we expected from the photographs and advertisement, and we would not return.
