“I booked the Glassillaun Beach House for a trip with my parents, siblings, spouses, and my three kids based on the pictures and its location.”

I had really high expectations, and I can say with complete honesty that every last one of us was still blown away by our stay. It was the highlight of our week long trip to Ireland. The house was immaculate and had everything we could have possibly needed. It is significantly bigger than we were expecting and is very clearly loved by its owners. And nothing can prepare you for the setting. It is breathtaking. Just steps to what felt like a private beach, a short drive to Connemara NP, Killary ...

Just steps to what felt like a private beach, a short drive to Connemara NP, Killary Sheep Farm (it may sound crazy, but this was everyone's favorite stop, from 78 year old to 8 year old... I'd call it a must visit especially when there are lambs), Killary Fjord, Kylmore Abbey, Paddy Coyne's Pub (our favorite of the MANY we visited), Purple Door Cafe, and more. I can't thank Kathleen enough for being so helpful and for offering to turn the lights on for us when we ended up getting in after dark (not sure we'd have found it otherwise!). This is an absolute gem of a house and a stunner of a location. We plan on coming back as soon as possible and staying for longer the next time around. You will not be disappointed!!!

About the location

TULLY, COUNTY GALWAY

Letterfrack 3.5 miles; Connemara National Park 3.5 miles; Clifden 12 miles.

The seaside village of Tully sits on the picturesque Renvyle Peninsula, County Galway. The village lies on the Atlantic Ocean, and fishermen still land the daily catch on the small pier by the beach. The village has two bars, a Post Office, a supermarket and a horseriding centre, as well as Teach Ceoil, a music house which holds traditional evenings of music each Tuesday evening during July and August. Across the bay are the mountains of Mweelrea and Croagh Patrick, and within easy reach are Connemara National Park, Kylemore Abbey, and Inishbofin Island, not to mention numerous walking and cycling routes, sea cruises, angling trips and much more. A wonderful base for a relaxing Irish holiday.
