“After months staying in numerous cottages, we found this one disappointing.”

It’s in a great location, has loads of tv channels and is very spacious and modern in the kitchen and living areas but the bathrooms are very small and we didn’t feel the cottage had much personality or any welcoming feel. Outside, there’s no name to identify the property and the grounds are rough and full of weeds and litter. Inside, even though we arrived after the cleaners had been, the heating was off despite the recent sub zero temperatures and the place was stone cold. There was no welcome note or milk, no fuel for the wood burner or any information about the oil heating, waste disposal, any local maps, suggestions or visitors book. Even the wall switch for the cooker is unmarked. A lack of soft furnishings and décor means the cottage looks a little bare and is a little noisy. The bed was comfortable and the bedding and towels clean and of reasonable quality. Whilst the floors, furniture and bathrooms were clean, the oven trays were in such a state they needed to be lined with foil and all the cooking pans we used needed to be thoroughly cleaned first. It’s a functional, spacious cottage in a great location with fantastic views and I imagine it would be a much better stay in summer than winter but if we were in this area again, we’d be staying elsewhere.

Disappointed you didn't enjoy your stay but heating got fixed same day once we knew there was an issue. Local maps and points of interest we do leave in the house but can't help if other guests take info. Bathrooms and yard are as shown on website. We do have weeds but litter we don't have and there are waste disposal bins to be seen outside the sun lounge. Property Owner
