Lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings, Caroline ,Tony and their two daughters were extremely welcoming and perfect hosts
- Davina, August 2023Maire “Beautiful, peaceful location, friendly hosts and horses.”
- Maire, August 2023Barbara “We totally loved the house and surrounding area.”
We enjoyed the silence, the fresh air and last but not least the hospitality of our hosts. The house is a very good, fully equiped and homely base to discover the mesmerising Wicklow mountains and Dublin. Our children especially enjoyed the company of your daughters, and all the the animals!
- Barbara, July 2023Gloria “Cottage was a little tired and would benefit from a little bit of sprucing up, like a rug or mat in the lounge, and the mattress in the main bedroom was definitely past its time.”
However the hosts were extremely helpful and hospitable people. We had a lovely time in the area.
- Gloria, June 2023Karen “We enjoyed our stay at Kylebeg cottage, the peace & quite was perfect after having spent the previous 3 days in busy Dublin.”
The cottage had everything we needed during our stay & the owner gave us lots of ideas about places to visit.I would not hesitate to recommend Kylebeg cottage to anyone visiting this area of Ireland.
- Karen, May 2023Fiona “This is an absolutely wonderful place to stay.”
Hosts were fantastic in every way and personable too! The house was clean, well appointed, in an absolutely beautiful location. The cottage is adorable!!! There was a hike that was right off the property that was my favorite in all of Ireland - weaving through rock fences and wild sheep with herds of deer and viewpoints that were breathtaking. Property owners are on site (a house next door) and were extremely helpful. Highly recommend!
- Fiona, December 2022Georg “Caro and Tony are gorgeous hosts!”
Always friendly and very helpful. The cottage is situated in a lovely landscape, we really enjoyed our stay!
- Georg, July 2022Brigitte “Excellent quality of the cottage, friendly helpful hosts.”
Lovely surroundings and lots of wild life. Good starting point for walking in the Wicklow Mountain. Enjoyed our stay very much.
- Brigitte, May 2022Linda “The property was in a lovely area surrounded by fields with livestock.”
Inside the cottage it felt homely and was equipped with everything you need. Tony was so knowledgeable about the area and things to see. He was able to answer all our questions at the end of the day. The girls came and got us to help feed the poddy lambs. We had a fantastic time and would love to return one day.
- Linda, May 2022Jane “Cottage was dirty.”
First 3 hours there spent cleaning. Mira shower unit was not working properly and on our first night the shower drain was comletely blocked. Cottage lacks privacy as there are no downstairs curtains. Nowhere to hang or store clothes in the bedrooms apart from 2 hangers on the back of each bedroom door..Extremely limited headroom in the bedrooms.
- Jane, April 2022Lara “Beautiful cottage with great views of the mountains and close to the lake.”
Caroline and Tony were wonderful hosts. Very helpful giving us tips for some walks close by and places for me to buy some wintery gear / footwear. They very kindly invited us into their home for a drink on Christmas morning when we took them a cheesecake which made our Christmas as we were sad to be having to spend it away from our families as we had originally planned! We will definitely return in the future hopefully under different circumstances and in warmer months when we can hopefully explore some of the mountain walks a little more. As stated on the listing, there is no wifi in the cottage and very little phone signal as the walls are so thick. We have managed to overcome this by placing one of our phones outside in a plastic bag and hot spotting our other devices from that. Other facilities in the cottage are great, we've loved having the fire going each evening although we haven't really needed it for warmth as the underfloor heating works really well. The kitchen is great, plenty of space and well equipped with an oven, hob, fridge and dishwasher (I love cooking so this is perfect for me). There was even a washing machine for us to wash our clothes in which we were very pleased about as we have gotten a bit muddy on some of the walks and due to our circumstances (waiting to fly to Australia) don't have many warm clothes with us. We absolutely loved staying at Kylebeg Cottage, it was like a home away from home and was exactly what we needed over the festive period. The only problems we encountered were with Sykes Cottages when trying to extend our stay other than that it was a very pleasant experience.
- Lara, December 2021Clare “Homely, cozy and comfortable.”
Wonderful countryside location for peace and quiet. Great scenic places to drive to in every direction. Friendly and helpful owners.
Gerne wieder.
- Manfred, October 2021Elena “We are really delighted with our week in this wonderful country house, the place is charming and the owners are wonderful, very kind and caring.”
It was a wonderful experience, we will definitely return. Thanks you.
- Elena, December 2020Clare “Kylebeg cottage is very charming, warm and comfortable.”
The beds are very comfy. Location is ideal for all county Wicklow has to offer. The hosts are informative and very helpful and kind. Thank you.
- Clare, September 2020Avril “Really enjoyed our week in this cottage, a great location for exploring Wicklow national park and general area.”
We enjoyed hillwalking and had some lovely hikes from the cottage, no worry about parking or driving. Cottage very comfortable, warm, well equipped , had everything we needed. Very friendly and helpful owners, great advice and easy to contact. In Covid times, we felt very safe and enjoyed getting away from it all!
- Avril, September 2020Anna “Pleasant little cottage /shed conversion with beautiful surroundings.”
Right next to the owner’s house. Close to a town with good amenities. Welcoming hosts.
- Anna, July 2020Barbara “Fabulous hosts at Kylebeg cottage.”
Beautiful area to stay x
- Barbara, August 2019Steven “We had a great stay and the owners were very helpful.”
This was a perfect little spot for our family (including 3 small children). There was plenty of space and everything we needed. We would definitely recomnend Kylebeg cottage
- Steven, July 2019Susan “The ceiling in the bedrooms is very low and angled, tall people might find this uncomfortable.”
We hit our head on the ceiling a few times.
- Susan, July 2019Sharon “The owners were particularly helpful with useful local information - suggestions of places to visit, directions etc.”
Lots of maps, tourist venue leaflets and restaurant menus in cottage - very useful. Perfect location and beautiful cottage, near enough to Dublin and remote enough to be peaceful - a very enjoyable holiday.
- Sharon, July 2019Anthony “The cottage itself was fine, but the beds were about a foot off of the floor, there was no way anyone of us could of got in or out of bed, so we did not stay there went to a travel lodge, owner was lovely about it even took us in a gave us a cup of tea, and then said we should phone sykes and get a refund which is what we did.”
- Anthony, May 2019Valerie “Very good renting.”
Very nice and quiet place. Perfect for enjoying the countryside and hiking in the Wicklows. It is also possible to go to Dublin for the day. Renting close to Blessington where you can find shops, which is very convenient. The renting is not easy to find. Hint : the road that leads the rental follows a stream and there is the owner's house close to the rental.
- Valerie, April 2019Christine “Ich fand es sehr schön dort , es war ruhig sauber und die Menschen waren sehr freundlich.”
Um die wicklow mountens zu erkunden ist der Standort ideal
- Christine, March 2019Kelly “Absolutely beautiful, both in accommodation and surroundings.”
An area of outstanding beauty. Wonderful hosts at the cottage, so warm, friendly and helpful. exceeded our expectations in all ways. Would definitely recommend staying here.
- Kelly, September 2018Nicky “The cottage was set in a beautiful location, host's went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.”
Cottage was very clean and very comfortable, Tony was there on our arrival to welcome us, full of knowledge of the area and suggested places to visit. We had a fantastic time and will be returning next year.
- Nicky, August 2018Rob “This is a nice cottage run by a very friendly couple.”
It is in very attractive surroundings. However, it is quite remote and a drive of 15 minutes or so to the nearest town, Blessington. As regards the accommodation - the bedroom has a low sloping ceiling that can be awkward and the water heating system makes a periodic very loud rumble that can be heard everywhere in the cottage.
- Rob, July 2018Noel “The location and the views were something else fantastic the host were very friendly overall all the people were very helpful.”
- Noel, August 2017Colin “Extremely helpful owners sat nav took us wrong way rang Caroline who came out ...”
Extremely helpful owners sat nav took us wrong way rang Caroline who came out and guided us to cottage a little slice of peace and quiet
- Colin, June 2017Toccara “The owners were extremely friendly and the house was well stocked.”
However, the slanted ceilings in the bedroom made it difficult to move around. Also, the fact that the one bathroom was located right off of the kitchen, was slightly inconvenient.
- Toccara, March 2017Ian “Caroline and Tony went the extra mile in providing nothing short of an outstanding experience of Wicklow Ireland.”
We would recommend this way to tour Ireland to anyone. Thanks so much.
- Ian, November 2016Trixie “My 1st trip to Ireland was Oct 2015.”
We stayed in this quaint little cottage and it was nothing short of amazing. Everything you could need was provided and the Tanseys were wonderful people and very helpful. The country is full of people who are very welcoming and the landscape it breathtaking!!! Have already booked another trip for Oct 2018. A few more people going this time, so we weren't able to get the Kylebeg again. :( But I'm sure it's in our future on another visit!!
- Trixie, October 2016Hannah “A very well equipped lovely cottage, in a beautiful location and really nicely decorated.”
The owners are very friendly and welcoming.
- Hannah, June 2016Sophie “2016 is our third consecutive year of visiting Kylebeg Cottage and staying with the accommodating owners.”
We love coming back so much that we are considering a move to Ireland. Our highlights of this holiday was visiting Powerscourt gardens, Druids Glen and driving to Bray.
- Sophie, April 2016Laurence E. “We loved the location of Kylebeg Cottage, in a farming area, close to a village and the mountains.”
The cottage was perfectly clean and comfortable and the hosts were available and very helpful.
- Laurence E., February 2016Veronica “The Cottage was warm, cosy and unique.”
The owners are very friendly. The surroundings superb, especially for walking and it was very quiet.
- Veronica, September 2015Teresa Anne “The peace and quiet.”
The people that own the cottage were fantastic and nothing was too much trouble for them. I would definitely be going back and I would recommend it to anyone.
- Teresa Anne, July 2015Katrina “A fabulous cottage in a fabulous setting.”
We will definitely be back.
- Katrina, June 2015Margaret “Loved the quietness and beautiful surroundings.”
Had very nice owners and we were given lots of suggestions on where to go for sightseeing and food. The cottage was beautiful and in an ideal place. Would definitely go back, as still got lots of things we would love to see and do.
- Margaret, June 2015Jacqueline “The hospitality we received from the owners could not have been warmer, they made us all feel so welcome.”
The scenery around was stunning. Will definitely go back to this charming, beautiful cottage with the exceptional warm welcome. Loved it.
- Jacqueline, June 2015Stephanie “A lovely quiet area with beautiful views and good walks.”
- Stephanie, August 2014Linda “This property is in the country but only half an hour away from the bright lights and old buildings of Dublin.”
Just follow the N81 main road to the tram park and ride sign and follow that to catch the tram straight in. Warm, friendly family welcome, even scones and jam. Just a very short drive from a large lake. Also a short drive into the Mountain National park which is stunning. Good shops just ten minutes away in Blessington. The property has a modern interior and kitchen but has the country character look on the outside. Great garden to wander in and watch the horse up in the fields.
- Linda, June 2014Ann “An idyllic cottage in a rural scenic setting.”
Had a very warm welcome from the owners who made themselves available for local information. The cottage was so comfortable and the views stunning. We enjoyed the animals (ponies, cat, dogs, pigs and - most of all - the chickens who perched on our windowsills!). This was a perfect base for exploring the wonderful Wicklow scenery and sights. We would thoroughly recommend this cottage.
- Ann, June 2014Sophie “Everything, already booked to go back.”
My father-in-law came with us first time (March). He enjoys walking and hiking up mountains thus was really a great holiday for him. We enjoyed it too. Hiring a car was definitely the way forward and we got to see more of rural Ireland. It was a perfect holiday which we shall come back to enjoy again and again.
- Sophie, March 2014Jacqueline “We had a fantastic holiday.”
The family who lived on the farm adjacent were so friendly and welcoming, and could not have been more accommodating. The location is beautiful, and I would highly recommend this cottage to others of all ages.
- Jacqueline, October 2013Thomas “We had an excellent stay at the cottage.”
Friendly welcome, and very cosy atmosphere. Will definitely go there again.
- Thomas, August 2013Claire “The cottage was charming and had been sympathetically updated so we were very comfortable, and slept very well!”
Although most attractions are a bit of a drive away, it was a pleasure to know this was the cottage we were returning 'home' to.
- Claire, August 2013Colin “Everything was great - the setting, the welcome from the owners, the cottage, and the scenery.”
We had a brilliant time and would go again very readily.
